Thread: To FOTM or not to FOTM ? ... a question in builds

After a lot of reading about different templates a lot have pointed to this one in particular:

MLS

Enh 3402

Def 4040

Heal 4000

Question I have is with this particular template what abilities would I be looking at? I understand the MLS part, but as far as what Aura's and FR and so on would this produce and also what CL would this end up as?

Also is it a good template for PvP as well as PvE? and how well does it maintain your force during battles?

From what I understand it is a FOTM type build, that being said what makes it the FOTM verses say a double mastery like MLS/MDef/Heal 4000 or something similar?

Instead of look at what other people have done, look at the professions you have enjoyed. They are all there in the jedi trees. Craft you template based around what you are best at and what you really enjoy. That's what makes a sucessful template and a happy jedi. Look at my post on Crafting your Template, I'll bump it now

I appreciate the replies, I am not quite starting the templates yet, still on the pre-paddy grind, but just looking at the various builds to see what I want to do, I hear about people making macro's to run infusion and aura to help keep them alive and I am curious as to what abilities like those would come of it.

With the particular build you have listed at the top you will get both Infusion and Aura. Imp Infusion comes from Healer 3xxx and Imp Aura comes from Defender xx4x so you are all set with those. Enh 3xxx will get you Force Run and Force Speed..... Enh x4xx will get you Force Armor..... Enh xxx2 gets you Channel Force.

Those are the main things that you have in that template.

** Changed the Enh x4xx stuff.... that's what I get for doing it from memory...

Cloak is in Powers, not enhancer. x4xx is the Force armor line which would give you Improved Force armor and Improved Force Shield I believe.

..... Enh x4xx will get you Force Cloak.....

The above statement is not true. Force Cloak comes with Powers x4xx. Enhancer x4xx comes with Force Absorb and Force Armor.Correct me if I am wrong.

Great that's what I was wondering, was all the niceties that go along with it, as far as full template goes, is that considered a full template? oris double masteries considered full template?

Using nearly all SP is full template. With this, you have 1 sp left; no biggie. Advanced force heal is nice, as is always being able to keep on FR1, even in combat without losing damage, and force speed 2 is nice for everything. Channel is wonderful of course, and you have to be careful when using armor, as you don't always need it and the force drain. But overall, a great template that I love and wouldn't change.

That template rocks though I changed it to 0044 Def to help with the constant MBH visits. The 4040 Def is better prepared for Jedi vs Jedi PvP, but honestly, I don't have it now and I get a lot of complaints from MLS that I am hard to hit, so I'm not sure I'm going to make the change just yet.

The only drawback is not having the 0004 Enh, Channel does its job, but damn, that's a long regen, and puts you in risk if you max out your Channel use during that downtime.
