I really need to curb my Channel Usage, but its so easy to get carried away

thats even better then when i watch'em slap stormies. i need to start paying attention to jedi health bars! maybe i will catch a guardian or master with 400 health!

i wasn't that lucky
i channeled down to 600 health on endor after doing some pve and a BH started to attack outta nowhere, he ended up droping me after the 4th shot.

yeah that happened to me yesterday, was channeling, then all of a sudden I hit a downer, my health bar went completely black and said I had one health point...

Why does channel not seem to effect my health like I hear it does to others?? I am a trando and channel hits my action/mind far more than health.

channel doesn't lower your actual heatlh like you are taking damage...
put your mouse cursor over your health, or hit cntrl-c. Then channel. What happens is that it lowers your max health about 300 points per channel, you don't even see it unless your looking at that screen or mouseover your health bar.
So If you've just channeled a lot, you could be well under 1k health, very easily 1-hit incappable by a bh.

I personnally think the penalities for using Channel are far too great. 300 health and like 30% of acton and mind for 300 force? Sheesh . . .
Obviously, you can only use this outside of combat.
On another note, the day after the CU went into effect, I was out fighting something and channeling while I fought (didn't know about the health reduction at that point. under the old system it was very obvious how much HAM you lost per channel) and this BH named Beaker comes up and 1 shots me. Thats another one you can chalk up to piss poor preformance from SOE dev staff.

channel works fine, just gotta be carefull with it. Can constantly use it combat, there was a thread going on about it here

i was sitting channeling and i channeled my whole force bar so i was down to like 100 something health..then i hit a booster down..LOL...was hilarious..
