Thread: need help with powers specials

my temp is master powers/master defender/healer3000/enhancer 0002
im looking for some advice about which specials to use when being attack by a bh, the best way to start off and stay alive.
im told KD/choke/lightning/mindblast is the best way to go,
thanks for any help.

From a launch player and long time powers jedi, I assure you, the most effective command you can execute with your Master Powers template is:
./respec
If youdo not have said command available, then yeah the routine you describe is pretty much as good as anything else you're gonna do. I would advise maybe a throw here and there as it does kinetic damage - which is soemtimes helpful.
Most of the time the bounty hunter will kill you however (if they know what they are doing). Your damage to force cost ratio is too high, your moves are too slow and weak, the few states you can add are short, your aoe's (kd and intim) will aggro every mob on the planet - who will gladly help Mr. BH kill you I might add- and you are about to eat a big nerf to your cloak skill which was pretty much all you had for defense.
Other than that, powers is great fun.

mind blast does decrease the damage being dealt by the BH if u get the states to lay.. check it ou its quite a lot of a reduction

Confirmed.
I use Mindblast a lot. I keep the target snared (Weaken), dizzy, and stunned at all times and throw in intimidate and Wafers when I want to slow down my healing (I have no defender so I heal a good amount)
You just need to be careful using intimidate it is like wearing meat soaked underwear to the zoo, every critter for miles around wants a piece of your ass.
Keep stims handy and use them as your heal every now and then just to preserve mind. Take a look at the Friday feature a week back and study the buff priority of the foods you use. If your mind is low and you started the fight using Spiced Tea eat another food with a higher buff priority than the tea and watch your pool shoot up. This can be used when your action is low and you wish you had just enough for a few more shots to finish him off. /wink

Until a few weeks ago i played as a master powers with no sabers and ive killed all but one bh that has come for me, so here are a few tips to consider when fighting them.
When you see the blue dot comeing for you, (or sometimes purple dot) first thing you do is run and cloak, channel your force bar to full if needed, eat all your foods ( mando wine, pikatta pie, booster blue, ruby bliel, crispic,and have some exo protien wafers on your toolbar if you start to take heavy dmg just pop one only 5 filling). After that uncloak next to your hunter, after he attacks, first thing you should do is kd, choke, weaken or lightning, after that he will start healing, just keep piling on the dmg, alternate between lightning and force throw or mind blist and if needed throw in an intimidate. Mind blast doesnt do much dmg so force hit is probably a better alternative due to the lower force cost. After your choke and weaken expire try to get him to half health and land a kd and another choke , lightning , weaken, lightning might be enough to incap him. Also dont be afraid to use saber hit, even with no saber skills if you have a decent saber, you can follow him and use saber hit and alternate it between power attacks, it does more dmg than most powers attacks and takes less force / action. being a master defender u shouldnt have any problems taking dmg from bh and powers straight up owns them so you should be good.
