Thread: Possibility to use FR 1 when FR 2 is available?

At the moment I am considering to switch from Mdef, LS 0044, healer 3000, enhancer 2002, powers 3000 (love the lightning )

to: Mdef, LS 0044, healer 4000, enhancer 4000, powers 4000.

what is holding me back is that I would loose force wave (snare) and at the same time I would be forced into force run 2 which I heard would sort of replace force run 1. If it is not possible to use FR 1 and FR 2 has a damage reduction I would either be constantly switching FR 2 on and off (considerable force drain I guess) when chasing a ranged enemy or I would have to rely on my ranged attacks i.e. saber throw or lightning which is not too much of a pleasant though.

So to the question: is there a way (maybe a /command for use in a macro?) to access force run 1 although i have FR 2 thanks to my enhancer 4000?

pre cu yes post cu no you cant use fr1 if you have fr2. The new system uses your highest option for a skill.

why isnt this issue being addressed. FR2 and FR1 are completely different skills. The fact that FR2 has a dmg reduction built in should give us ability to use FR1. This cannot possibly be intended. Why would devs intend for this to happen? There is no benefit to them other than to make us upset which we know they love.

Something needs to be done with this. If we train a skill, then it should be added to our skill list. Not remove a pre existing skill unless there are no changes other than increased dmg or lower action / mind costs, or some benefit. If there is a negative to the skill in its progression, it needs to be separated.

I consider this a huge bug and our correspondant needs to address this issue.

Songuki first made this remark to devs when he was coro, Bac must have done it too. Same goes for adv heal, adv saber throw, so on. Why should we be able to only use the higher ability ? For other profession, higher means better, but for jedis, higher is not always better...

And indeed it is. This is in line with all other post cu specials, whereas pre cu you could use headhit1 if you had headhit2 and forcerun1 if you had forcerun3 the cu has made it so your 'best' version is used.

The absolute most basic and fundemental coding of the cu will not allow anything other than this to occur.

Force run will use the best version you have untill the devs decide to re programme the CU.

Thanks for the info everyone.

It is indeed ridiculous, I am seriously thinking about leaving those skillpoints unused instead of taking this skillbox because this new "improved" skill would actually mean a downgrade for me, weakening me at least during 1 vs. 1 fights.

ya its sux. all i can use is fr3 and that takes i think around 8% of my force to turn on. so basically, if im going to run from a bh i have to plan to do it b4 i run out of force, otherwise im dead. pretty lame but SOE isnt too bright so....
