Thread: Would Jedi be happy if the Dev's let you respec into a normal profession?

It seems like to me that the Dev's have TOTALLY zapped the fun out of Jedi completely. Wouldn't you prefer a respec into a normal profession to this?

I think this would end all sorts of griefing cause I don't ever see the Jedi system being taken care of in either direction. I mean Jedi were suppose to be rare and powerful which they are neither despite this BH system being introduced to handle them.

Am I alone in thinking we'd rather be allowed to respec into something that was actually fun? I'd give up Jedi for that option.

Thats what Alts are for. Every Jedi gets an Alt.

Yeah but you gotta admit you would play BOTH characters if you were allowed to do something that actually had some enjoyability to it.

Who enjoys weaker sabers? I mean, come on.

We already have alts, why would we want another normal toon?

I'm saying that Jedi is not a playable or enjoyable profession anymore when it looks like paint drying to watch a saber take several whacks, and I'm talking 10+ to kill anything.

ITS BORING and the main toon stays unplayed cause of design flaws.

What's wrong with people who can't post more than a flame?

Is it a question of IQ or a threat to their manhood?

Post something constructive or don't post, try it cause I think you'll feel better about yourself really.

That is afterall the point of flaming someone isn't it? Same reason why people buy HMMVs, only way some will get a hummer.

yeah um, respec my jedi into a normal prof? **edit** would I want to do that? I spent god knows how many hours on my Jedi. I can play one of my Alts if I want a change of pace.

And it does NOT take forever to kill anything with a saber, unless you have very low saber skills or horrible crystals. And if you do have crappy crystals, go master powers. Force choek is your friend.

It wasn't a flame.. it was a honest question.

Who in the right minds would choose to respec their jedi who they spent countless hours on to a normal proffesion. Like the guy said above, "Thats what alts are for."

The developers, quite simply, don't know when to leave well enough alone. Blixtev and the other 'combat' developers keep fiddling and tweaking and changing, all in response to various cries of "that's too powerful! Make it weaker! That's too different! Make it use the same code! I can't have that ability! Get rid of it or make it useless!"

They're simplifying the code and making every ability exactly like every other ability that does the same thing. Just wait till all the different 'root' moves have the same duration, and all the different snare moves delay by the same amount, etc. It'll happen.

What the developers really need to do, is stop tweaking, fiddling, and changing. Give the players a stable skillset, and stop changing the rules all the time.

And yes, I had more fun with Jedi pre-CU than I did post-CU. Pre-CU, combat felt fast, and the rate of solo XP gain was tolerable, if a bit on the slow side.

Post-CU, combat feels both slow *and* frantic. Slow, because, well, all the cool-down timers and restrictions make my abilities feel slow, and frantic because the NPCs don't abide by those rules, and can use special attacks at a rate I would consider obscene. About the only time combat feels appropriatly paced is when I am sniping CL 20 NPCs with my MRifleman.

That said, I wouldn't respec my Jedi even if the opportunity was allowed. I want to roleplay a Jedi. I want to be able to do all those quests that CL 80 characters can do. Eventually I'll get there. Eventually. It'll probably take me a couple more years, unless the developers do something smart and triple the XP for solo/ungrouped players.

Yeah you know, I personally get a kick out of roleplaying a Dark jedi, and my friends and guildmates get a great kick out of lightning charred MOBS.

This game is about playing with my friends, and I have fun doing that with my Jedi and my alts, it all depends on what we want to do.
