Ok , I will be the first to admit I have been very hard on our Jedi Correspondant, I have had my reasons in the past, however now is not the time. I also have read Garva's Post and it shed new light onto my thinking.. So with this new found light I shall post CONSTRUCTIVELY what I feel needs to happen and happen fast. For those looking for FRS this is not the thread you are looking for. For those looking for a NERF this is also not the Thread you are looking for.
Publish 24 has brought some intresting changes to Star Wars Galaxies. The Enhanced AI of NPC's is rather fun and Engaging.. The Re-Vamp to Squad Leader and Commando is also fun and Engaging. However it has come to my attention that Squadleader has become even more powerfull than ever imagined.. Not a Bad thing so to speak. The MBH/SL/CM Template is Powerfull indeed, rather alarming at first. However, I feel it is doable.. I am a MBH/MCM and a Full Template Jedi Also have a Merchant/Carbineer and a MBH/MRifle /Force Sensitive ( need 4 more boxes until Paddy Trials and Village End Quest) So please spare me the YOU'RE not a Jedi so stop posting in My forums Posts.. Now to be constructive. I feel that with these new Enhancements to Squadleaders Commandos and Soon to be Rangers , Jedi need to be Enhanced also.. I know there are quite a few Jedi from the past ( pre-cu) That were GOD like Jedi and so alot of Hate was formed becuase of thier GOD like power.. This needs to stop.. Also what needs to stop is the endless NERFING of Professions in the HOLY NAME of Baluance.. Tweaks and such are not Baluancing they are just redistributions of Power... the Jedi Professions as a WHOLE has been Nerfed beyond Repair.. Now Please for you Forum Trolls if you claim that in this Time Period there were only 2 Jedi I will throw the Book of Canon at you.. You wont like what you see.. So dont go there.. With that said please keep an open mind and listen to this discussion in a constructive way... Jedi as a Whole needs a MAJOR Revamp.. The Jedi Arts were powerfull and Mystical.. Not of your average Profession.. Currently in game the Jedi Profession is just a Master Brawler with a Glow Sword.. The Jedi have been NERFED Nerfed and NERFED beyond what I honestly feel is reasonable... I am all for A minor tweak here and a Tweak there. but This needs to end and end fast...
SOE has been doing its Best ( flame me for what you want I dont care) to make a Star Wars Universe that we can enjoy and I feel that yes it may be dark times currently , there is still hope for things to change for the better.. Among those changes I feel need to be some Drastic Changes to the Jedi Arts.. In the Movies and in the Books The Jedi arts were Mystical and Powerfull.. Not easy to atain and NEVER easy to master.. Even Luke Skywalker had troubles Staying True to the Light Side Teachings... He was always learning new things and such.. I feel that the Jedi Arts ( professions Currently ) are too bland.. We need more in -depth Template Paths to choose from.. More Knowledge.. And Yes More Power.. It takes a Person MOre Time to become Full template than any other template in this game.. ( Yes Even Post CU ) Start a New Toon on a New Server and have a friend do the same One strive to be a Full template Jedi the opther Strive to be a full template Combat Toon ( Non Jedi Non Force Sensitive) the Friend will be Finished Faster than you would.. It is true that we all pay the same amount to play this (Hopefully soon ) Great Game.. But The Jedi have desided to go down the Hard Un Beaten Path journey into Un Charted Waters and learn the ways of the Force to some day write thier own Legendry Story in the Chapters of what we all Love , Star Wars .. Please Devs and Jedi Correspondant Let us work together to bring this dream alive.. Now Going down the path the learn the Ways of the Jedi arts are not for everyone.. many may chose to go but others will not. The choice is thiers and only thiers to make.. Anyone who wants too can travel down that road but not all will ...
What I feel needs to change is the way SOE and Us the playerbase work together... We need to come together as a whole for the common good. To bring new and everchanging life to Star Wars Galaxies.. And to the Jedi Arts.. I am not calling for Nerfs to others I am asking for time and patientce to work together to make things right.. Jedi needs to be what George Lucas Invisioned.. Mystical Knights who fight with Honor and live by a code.. Full of Knowledge and Power of a Mystical Force that guides thier life... Currently in LIVE Jedi do not feel that way.. Lightsabers a More Eligant Weapon of a more civilized Age is not living up to what it should.. We as in Jedi do not have the proper tools to achive such things that make us feel like Jedi.. Obi-Wan did Scold Anikin about his Lightsaber saying a Lightsaber is a Jedi's LIFE.. Now also in LIVE are the professions in the Jedi Arts.. Master Lightsaber Wielder , Master Force Power Wielder , Master Force Enhancer , Master Force Healer, Master Force Defender.. These Five arts are so Broken it is not even funny... These do not make me or any of my Jedi Friends in Live feel like we are a Person Trained in the Jedi Arts ( to Paraphrase Qui-Gon Jin) A Person whi Masters the Art of Lightsaber Wielder can not use it for Defense? Now that is Silly.. I could and Should go on but I wont.. Instead I am asking that we the playerbase and you the DEVS at SOE ( Bac you are part fo the playerbase not trying to leave you out) Come together and strive to make things work for a better game and a better Star Wars Experiance.. Bring back the Power and Mystical feeling to Jedi... Alow Smugglers to Smuggle Things and Persons... Alow Bounty Hunter to hunt Bounties... ( Both Jedi and Non Jedi... this would be really Star Warsy) I am aware that things take time for Change... I just want the Changes we together make work out to be great for this Star Wars Game we alllove.. Again I am not whining or Calling for a Nerf... Or Bac's Job.. All I am asking for is that we come together and work together to make this Game GREAT... Jedi Need a Drastic Revamp Smuggler should get one too ... Do not forget about our Crafters.. Without them we would have nothing but loot items to use... Please give the Crafters some love and bring them into the sceme of things to make them feel more in touch with Star Wars..
Callingh for Nerfs is not the answer... Fighting and Bickering within our own Profession is not the answer either.. Only together can we make this game GREAT... And Restore Power to the galxay...

ummm, just to point out the the EU books have nothing to do with actual star wars history and should be left of out the game

Actually the EU Books do have things to do with Star Wars Historyall EU Books are aproved By Lucas... There are restrictions on what they can refer too They cant change history that conflicts with what Lucas calls the Central Saga that is the Rise and Fall and Redemption of the Skywalker Family (Rise of Anikin Fall of Anikin and Redemption of Anikin... EpisodesIthru VI )
But the EU does allow for Back stories to come to life..
Also I did say if you are going to Play the Canon Card that I will Fire Back..Lets try to keep this focused on the Game and not what is and what is not Historical Fact ..Only Lucas himself can Rule on that....

I think the main changes have been since fanfest, wasn't one of the top 10 points the devs took from fanfest beeing the '1v1 jedi vs BH' ?. This is the way the devs have made it, they followed directions of the playerbase (or the whole 0.001% that attended fanfest).
Personally I prefered gank squads and having a slightly more powerful character. They've just lowered us to a normal profession for the sake of bounty hunters. What they need to do is setup a questionaire and send the email, get more than just a couple of hundred people who attended an overpriced convention to tell the devs what they should do.
After all that said, I'm not to worried with the way the game is at the moment.. They could just make it that if someone had a 'bounty' mission that the SL buffs wouldn't work, that would solve the whole problem there. I still think combat medic needed that increased action/mind on their heals though, they're near impossible to take out - the ones that spend lots of cash on expensive armour and enhancers etc, some are easily beaten.
Those two I would consider the only things that needed to be changed. Actually, heres another - I think duelest stance should be removed.. Oh so much fun standing next to a bounty hunter, 300 dot poison, 300 dot fire every 10 sec and every hit you land on him hits you back for 200 - 300 damage. Just stand there look pretty and wait for your mind to go down.
Thats all I think should be changed right now.

I agree with you for the Right now but i am looking at the Big Picture.. There is alot that should be changed or added.. Player Capitol Ships.. A GCW that worked... alot of things... But again I agree with what you said Triton-au .. Thank you for posting your thoughts.. Constructive thoughts work best...

I was going to post about the GCW too, but I got lazy.
My suggestion was adding something in like the Planetside capture and control system (aparently DAOC had similar thing, but I never played that), not this blow one base plant 5 others. They sell forward outposts for 150k on Valcyn, you can buy a dozen and get a discount.
Player Capitol ships, I remember reading a post about that, everyone was saying 'wheres the new footage, when is that going to be added in' etc. Then the response was 'this was just an idea from the desktop of a developer, this may not be the direction we want to go'. Judging by the response, wouldn't you think that would be the exact direction they should go?
Actually, I've said it several times, the *best* thing they could do now is change the GCW, SF/Combatant/On Leave is fine. But please, they REALLY need LARGE STATIC bases that people could just log online, look at their planetary map and SEE if something was beeing attacked! Anyone who played Planetside would agree that it would be extremely fun, and it would move combat out of starport gankings, and better yet, the fact that you could just log on and know where a fight was without having to send 50 tells to 50 friends.

I was just about to bump this too, shame my 'please stop posting useless threads' useless thread didn't get sticked and locked after 2 minutes too, yet the post "locked for the win" has been running for about 15 minutes.

Yes all EU books are apart of Star wars history and all Star wars products must be approved by Lucas as im sure this game was in the beginning.
