I'd wager those dissing spin groups already have their temps full

I mean this is just ridiculous, when the ryatt became convoluted we were told to go get a spin group and get some exp, after all it was faster. It's completely moronic to tell us not to get spin groups because you think we're getting exp "a bit too fast". Stop moaning about other people's grinding, we all know nobody enjoys it as it is, why try and make it worse?

eheh, that's almost as good as the BH who I incapped then told "don't attack, don't heal, just get up and walk away....slowly"...who proceeded to get up and ask me if she could try some stuff....I let her try all kinds of different combos on me, being nice, not attacking back, and finally got bored so hit her swoop....then she started cursing me out and saying I griefed her.....she didnt have a spare vehicle yadayadayah...so I had a buddy sell her a speederbike for a friendly price of 50k.....then she called it and started yapping again....so of course...I smacked it.....and watch her bug out at top speed with 1/8th vehicle condition.

Its the natural order of most things.

Give electrons an easier way from point A to point B and they will take it.

Give a lion a gun and train it and it will shoot the prey instead of chasing it.

Give a man a choice of a spade or a digger to dig a ten metre hole and he will choose a digger.

Give a player the choice of raking in xp or going slow and steady and he will choose to rake it in.

That makes no sense. Lions are TERRIBLE shots!!

I have no problem with aoe groups. It's not exploiting, it's just efficient grinding. It's not like it doesn't take any effort to do either, it takes a skilled group to pull it off well.

As for the rate of xp gain, I think it's a little too high, but really, who get to say how fast skill gain *should* be. Maybe it's better that people spend less time grinding and more time doing what they want to be doing.

I don't like afk grinding, but that's just me. When people afk grind I don't feel like they're earning their xp, which is more than can be said for AOEers.

In response to the poster though. I highly doubt there's any aoe chat channel. I'd say your best bet is to just make friends with other people that want to aoe and have everyone in touch with each other. That way you can let each other know if someone needs a group or if a group needs more people.

The ability to grind up fast and to PLAY THE GAME instead of just tedious grinding is what alot of players enjoy in the game. When the nerfed the XP they heard a justified outcry of dismay. Its part of the game. Sorry if some of you don't like it, but I think its great that I can switch between temps fairly quickly. Considering you get only one character per server I think this game needs that kind of flexability.

spin groups need to die.

Do I detect the sour note of someone without an AoE attack? Or perhaps you would care to share your enlightened, justifiable reason for that sentiment?

How do spin groups harm you? In what way do they impact your game? I don't want any B.S. about "limiting the number of Jedi", because that argument is tired, old, weak and pointless; the fact is, SOE wants people to be playing Jedi characters, or they wouldn't have made the "profession" so easy to obtain and grind, and with so few real risks. I've hated every bit of this Jedi grind, from hologrinding, to being a village idiot, pre-CU, post-CU, and so on. Not becausethe grindis hard -- it's not -- but because it's so mind-numbingly boring, time-consuming, and has no bearing whatsoever on "learning the ways of the Force" (unless you're a Sith, in which case killing everything you come across is the right path ).

I could be freshly awake from a full-night's sleep, with three cups of coffee in me, and still be falling asleep after the third lair done the "old fashioned" way. Spin/AoE groups are the only way to shorten this process. It's already not hard, so why should I spend more time than at it than absolutely necessary? Hell, if it was hard, I might actually prefer to take my time with it for the adventuring aspect. The only thing "hard" about the FS and Jedi grinds are the callouses on my fingers, and the cartilage in my wrist, from pressing keyboard buttons and mousing around for uncounted hours.

You don't want to grind in an AoE/Spin group, then don't. That's your choice.

But making the process longer is not going to thin the Jedi herd. The very idea that putting a boring and time-consuming grind in front of people in hopes that it'll prevent them from doing it is as fallacious as the idea that nerfing Jedi skills will makeplaying oneless attractive. Neither attempt on SOE's part has worked to reduce the Jedi population. Indeed, the Jedi population skyrocketed after the path to becoming Jedi was so clearly and mechanically spelled out (i.e., after the Jedi Revamp).

And even nerfing XP gained wouldn't stop spin groups; in fact, it'd make them all the more attractive.
