Thread: Worth buying pearls?
The first time you buy a premium pearl, get all jacked up to tune it, bow to the almighty force gods, tune it and then examine it and find 21/21 -2 will probably change your mind on spending a whack of cash for them. Premiums have a better chance to tune good, but you will get alot more crappy ones then good ones. I tuned at least 4 crappy premiums for every good one I have, the only flawless I tuned was so bad all I could do was laugh while I deleted it. I laugh at all the Jedi who think they could just loot 4 premium/flawless(if they still dropped) and they would be all set with a 700+ max damage saber. Pre-cu I probably wore out more Composite chestplates and powerhammers tanking dragons then most post-cu Jedi will see in a lifetime, in the end my best saber is around 710 max damage and I have 2 others above 650 max.It would make most post-cu Jedi cry at the number of premiums I deleted because they sucked.
I would be begging for a better tuning system then just the blind re-introduction of premium/flawless into the loot table. How about some Quests where the reward(the actual reward would be profession based so all could benefiet) is a pre-tuned pearl that is automatically bio-linked to the Jedi that does the quest.
I would say if u can get em pretty cheap around 300k-500k and got the cash to spend then buy em otherwise make a deal with a friend or jedi that u know have him farm some for ya and make a nice price deal with him.
I normally hunt krayt pearls for friends and ppl i know and they get em for around 200k-300k a piece and the only reason i charge for em is because i use quite alot of food when i solo hunt and because i take some risk because i normally have a certain BH on me i wonder how he can keep getting my mission but then i again i hunt ad odd times compared to US
good luck on your hunt for a better saber
p.s. i have never tuned a good crystal above 101 -4 fc -0.11 spd
