Thread: Gee. Jedi don't even get a Root in the NGE. and it's intended?

4 meter saber range, no root. = jedi, the most gimped class in the NGE.
So here we go. Issues, bugs, concerns and problems withing the Jedi Profession of the NGE:
1. Saber range isnt working. Sabers are suppose to be 0-5m. You cannot melee attack outside of 3m currently
Saber rangers should be 0-4m, if the saber shows anything different please report it.
2. Stances animations arent working. Currently shows as a unknown appearence box over the character. Current fix is to disconnect/reconnect.
Should be fixed in a build today
3. Blue Glowie breaks on combat. This breaks at the first sign of combat. Believe it was mentioned all combat and abilities could be used while in blue glowie (if this is wrong, i will take it off my list)
As designed, Combat breaks blue glowie.
4. Cannot space travel while in blue glowie. Not sure if this is working as intended or not, so listing it. You can shuttleport travel as a glowie, but cannot use the space terminal at the moment as one.
We will have to iron out what you can/cannot do as blue glowie as they come up.
5. Force powers not working correctly. Some of the force powers are not responding at all from any range. There are a couple that work withing the current saber range (3m)
Will investigate.
6. New jedi arent allowed padawan robe if they skip the tutorial. Even if this is easy to get through, should not be forced to play to get an important jedi item.
Padawan Robes can always be obtained from the Force Shrines if you lose them. Please confirm/deny.
7. Force Run inneffectiveness. Only lasts for 3 seconds and adds no terrain negotiation. Jedi have no TN so ability because useless on any type of slope/uneven terrain.
This "ability" is now a "close the distance" ability and no longer a travel/escape ability.
8. Saber Schems not working for respec jedi. For some pre-nge non jedi who respeced, they arent getting the ability to create certain sabers.
Will investigate.
9. Items not being granted with respec. This is a big concern in the community. We understand that you think respeced characters will be to high for these items, but some would like them for nostalgia and also some items are barely behind our level. For example, meditation crystal is only cl78, only 2 cl behind what we can respec to with a full template.
As designed.
10. Pre-NGE sabers converting over at nearly twice the damge you can craft now. The pre-nge generations are nearly double the strength as the equivlent generation saber in the NGE.
Please check this out after the next TC-LIVESERVERNAME comes up. There were a few issues with the Corbantis saber conversions.
11. Abilities locking players in combat. If you use a force heal or stance around an enemy or corpse and are out of combant, it will lock you in combat. Current fix is to find a creature/npc and kill it.
Bug.
12. Holocrons no longer having a function. Used to refill force bar. But with the removal of the force bar, they seem to have lost any function at all.
We will have to decide what we want these to do at some future point.
13. Elder Jedi title bug. Appears over your head as the coding for it.
Should be a fix for this out today.
14. Not allowed old titles (concern for all profs). Were told we would be able to use old titels we had as a vet bonus in the new system. Have only been able to use titles we have from our current respeced profs or had on our characters when converted.
Unknown.
15. Using moves in glowie gives a default saber sprite. If you use a move ie: saber throw, before the blue glowie effect goes away, your saber turns into a default blue mapped over saber until the move is done and you lose glowie form.
Fix should be out for this today.
16. Can respec to a CL 90 jedi. Wont list how (even though it is easy to find) but it is possible to get from CL 80 to CL 90 for jedi with respecs.
Sounds like a bug, please PM me steps for investigation
17. Lightsabers and force powers, do not grant combat xp. Pretty self explainatory.
Will check this out.
18. Defensive buffs appear to not be working properly. Little to no damage taking difference between low level defense buffs and high level buffs/stances in PvE.
Will check this out.
19. Old pre pub9 crystals arent convertin properly. These should be turning into damage crystals.
This sounds like old twin force crystals. Currently they are setup to turn into colors.
20. No root ability. All of the Combat classes have a snare and root, some have multiple. Jedi Currently has 3 snares and no root abilities.
As designed.
21. Robes providing protection/jedi armor. With us now being a normal class and also the only "pure" melee class, we are also the only class without armor. Innate was taking out with the NGE. A form of armor should be set in place for us. Example would be putting a protection amount ie: 4000 to kinetic/energy, on our robes (numbers would vary for the different robes)
As designed.
22. Abilities timer being used with no action (affects all profs). Currently, if you go to use a ability and you are out of action, you will still use up the timer on that type of move IE: if you use vaapad strike but have no action, the timer for all strikes is used up. I should not use the timer at all since you arent able to use the move.
Could be a bug on the client.
I know there are a lot more issues that affect jedi jedi, but a lot fo them affect other profs to and have been brought up. I am trying to keep this to mainly Jedi only issues. Good luck everyone, See you in game

yeah well it looks like he got free reign on Jedi. So much for even being balanced. We're now .5 of what other "classes" are.
