My conclusion with this whole NGE stuff is, SOE has deffiently NOT taken the current subscribers into account what-so-everwith the roll out of the NGE. It's VERY ironic how a company, cannot takeANYTHING into consideration that was suggestedfrom its curruent customer population over the years yet, out of the blue, they decide that, instead of fixing the current game to accomodate the current subscribers, they thought it was a better idea to make an accomodation for the peeps who arent even subscribers yet. lol How can they all the sudden, decide HEY! lets STOP taking care of the people who play our game now... and start thinking about taking care of the people who arent EVEN PLAYING OUR GAME YET. OMG THATS GENIOUS!?!?!? errr someone fill me in? the numbers of the amount ive spent on this game is making me hostile

The expansion was a way to make a fast buck in case this had a back lash. It's starwars.. new players are lined up for any flashy new starwars thing.

Yes they have. According to the rumor that has been floating around, we were going to be shut down a month or two after Japan. This is the desperate attempt to stave that off. If they lose us, AND new subs don't pour in over Christmas and stay, NGE might amount to no more than a 1-2 month stay of execution.
What I don't understand is WHY they chose to do something radical, untried, buggy as all get out thing, rather than a "Manhattan project" of Devs to do what we have continually and consistently asked for (but they have never done): FIX WHAT IS BROKEN AND BALANCE THINGS...
The NGE won't save SWG. It just ensures it's demise. And really, at this point, it's too late for them to take it back and make things right again. They've already scammed us over the expansion, fired Tiggs, and started in desperation handing out stuff that had to be bought or earned (JTL, 2nd char slot) to keep people.

True. It will initally sell fairly well... "I get to start as a JEDI" marketing, etc. At least to those who get their info on MMOs from TV commercials and not from MMO sites, I am sure most of those will be warning them off this game. SWG has, for all of it's life been savaged in the press, I think unfairly, until the CU and now CU2 anyway.
But the bottom line is, they will STAY only if IT IS A GOOD GAME. NGE as it is now isn't a good game. And all those wannabe Jedi are going to find out they are the crappiest combat class in the game and /cancel. Indeed, the horrible translation of Jedi ALONE is probably enough to sink the game.
Plus, keep in mind, the OLD problem we always have asked SOE to address, namely "Fix the bugs and balance things" will probably continue to be ignored. The audience they will be attracting now won't have the patience and attention span we have and will put up with far less than we have.
I am going to try to avoid the marketing (which I've heard is going to be huge). I GUARANTEE you will see the game marketed by "Jedi Jedi Jedi". Seeing that after seeing what my Jedi is becoming, and how people who never had to grind the village or holocrons will have what is left of it anyway, handed to them will make me throw things at my TV.
