Thread: Discuss: Current Levels of Negative Jedi XP
When Patch 9 went into effect it brought with it the FRS. Due to the active pvp requirements of this new system the devs rightly removed the skill box loss penalty for death. At this time the devs also increased the pay out for player bounties from 15k per successful mission to hundreds of thousands of credits, and imposed xp loss on the Jedi community of 2k xp per each skill point spent on Jedi skills.
The devs stated that the purpose of this xp loss was to prevent Jedi and BH from teaming up to farm credits off of the player bounty mission system. The caps were set at -10mil and +4mil with no explanation given as to why there was such a large disparity between the two.
The player bounty revamp of P22 removed the names of the Jedi from the mission terminals, and reduced the payouts on missions completed for the same Jedi within a specific period of time. These changes made the ability for BH and Jedi to team up and farm credits much more difficult, and subsequently it effects the original logic behind the negative xp system.
Balancing the penalty to deter potential abuse of the the player bounty system, with risk of loss to both Jedi and BH would likely prove unpopular to a large segment of the player base.
As a result of the recent changes to the player bounty system, and the acceptance that the BH community would not likely want to share in the risk of penalty for potential abuse of the the player bounty system, the negative xp and the positive xp system needs to be re-assessed.
I propose that Padawans carry a tiered negative xp cap proportionate to the current positive xp that they can bank. Additionally it is logical that if higher ranks in the FRS carry a higher neg xp cap, they should also carry a higher banked xp cap. For Knights each rank above Padawan should carry with it an increase to both the negative and positve xp cap of 500k.
The Jedi community has carried the burden of penalty for potential abuse of the player bounty system for over a year now. Certainly the feedback from Jedi players has shown that this one sided penalty has been unpopular.

When you bring this up to the devs do you think you could hit them up for a raise in our max banked xp?

As i put in the other post, im still at -10500000 never was at master.
I personally have never been in the negatives. But the xp cap should be the same as the negative xp cap . Its only natural

ditto
How about a negative max of0 and a positive max of infinite. Serioulsy, why not turn off negative xp once someone has alloated all their sp to Jedi? Why make someone regrind -10 mil xp if they need or want to respec. What is the logic begind negative xp once you are done with your template. Take it away for full template Jedi, and maybe more of them would be willing to stand and fight BH. Just a thought.
