I think Tiggs is right , in where it needs to be made so pearls arent farmed to make money. However, only to help Jedi get decent tunes. My idea is to have a quest based system of looting the pearl, perhaps similar to killing necrosis for the Banes Heart crystal. The only way I could see this working, without people farming pearls to sell, is only the person who loots the pearl can tune it. For example they are automatically bio-linked to the looter.

I'm not saying a spawn like acklay or a place campable. I mean a sort of mission area only you and your group can go to, another instance persay. Whereas people in your group can help you finish the quest but only the person who loots it can tune it, and it is not tradable.

In the movies, Jedi would travel around the galaxy in search of crystals for their lightsabers. I do not remember other galaxy commoners searching for them so they can make sell them.
