I bet you think this is a long post. Well, I hate typing so no... lol.
I am sure most of you understand, but many think that jedi should be a vet reward. That is not good fiscally for SOE, and that is why they are doing what they did...
Here, lets explain it like this.
10ooo new players buy the game, and out of 10ooo, 8ooo want to be jedi. After the end of the trial period, 55oo subscriptions do not renew because they dont want to grind for 6 months to get jedi. That is 55oo subscriptions that SOE could have had if they would have jedi from the start.
Now, this is a bit exagerated, but easy to understand nonetheless. Jedi is the selling point, and people do not want to wait. They want it now, and for each 12 yr old that turns away from the game, is a paying parent that did not renew that 15 bucks.
The other reason is Xbox 360, but that is a different topic all together.

Jedi isn't a started profession. Force sensitive is. That's the equivilant of unlocking the village. There's much work to be done before you even get a saber.

Right, I understand that. But guarantee you, no one is going to have to grind for 6 months again.

I don't think so. I think that with the NGE there will equal grinding time for any of the 9 profs. Jedi XP will be the same as any other prof since their strength will also be equal.
Get used to the idea of someone getting full template Jedi in 2 weeks max.
