I can set up my saber to be 711 damage 1.29 speed but 18 fc. Or it can be set up for 665 damage 1.49 speed 11 fc. anyone?

I'd go with the 1.29 saber. 7 more force cost per swing is a little yes but you'd be able to react in attack faster by amost a quarter of a second.

As it was explained to me it's that a attack has a straight cost then the cost of your saber is added on top of it. So if the attack takes say 50 then your 17 it's added so it's 67. By the time you get to a few thousdand force 7 isn't that much.

No. There was a table made of how diminishing returns applies to Lightsabers and Force cost, not sure where that is now. What it showed was that the difference in actual Force cost per swing between a 9 FC and a 15 FC Lightsaber was about 3 Force per Dervish and less on other moves.

You need to look at your SAC too. If your SAC is going from 126 to 95 to get that lower FC and the 655 damage it may pay off for you. I know with a 95 SAC saber I absolutely never get low on action by using saber moves. This gives me the freedom to channel if I need to and not worry about the big hit to action. With my high damage 126 SAC saber, action management was a much bigger issue.
