Which is better for a new padawan...
trying to keep your combat level up to get more XP for killing things
or
dropping all skills and learning jedi from CL1 (or near there, you got to have some protection.)

keep your combat lvl up and utilize your elite skills with jedi grinding, such as cob or shot skills if a bh comes for you.

More CL = More XP
try to keep a high cl, anyway you begin novice in whatever you choose as template.

If you plan on soloing more than grouping, you need to drop your combat level, cause your new saber skills cant keep up with the creatures at level 80.
If you plan on grouping more often, then of course keep your combat level high for faster xp.

keep your cl up.
makes it easier to get invites to groups,and also allows you to switch to your combat prof if the need arises, drop your skills gradually in line with your jedi advancement.

Stay at CL 80 as much as you can.
