Thread: Will the new FRS be the deciding factor for you?

I think you will be hitting the cancel button...

Let me just preface this post by saying that this is not a complaint or a whine, just a straight up question that I can answer honestly for myself. I'm wondering where the rest of you stand.
Jedi have seen quite an "evolution" of both the player base/community as well as how their skills and roles in SWG play out. We've gained great skills, lost great skills. Some skills have been fixed, others have been broken for quite some time, many "hot fixes" have been added and havent fixed anything. SOE installed the FRS for us tocompete with each other and gain new abilities and develop our skillset....it was ruined by cheaters, I suppose that was inevitible.
The FRS for Jedi was ruined and shut down and the launch of the CU. We were promised a new, revised FRS. We've waited a while now, over half a year by the time this FRS is supposedly supposed to be launched. We're all eager for it, we're all holding our breath, we all can't wait to be knights and start working towards Jedi Master.......which brings me to my question:
If the new FRS is a flop, will you quit SWG?
For me, if the FRS bombs, I'm done. I've waited too long for an uncorrupt, true measure/advancement tool for leveling my Jedi. I'm done with "hot fixes" I'm done with "publishes" and I'm most certainly done with "expansions" that are not worth the $30 or whatever, that I pay for them. I'm done with nerfs, KD bugs, cloak bugs, 13 year old BH's, 13 year old Jedi, sabre exploits, etc etc.
If, however, the new FRS is fantastic, offers very challanging advancement, and is uncorrupt, then this game may have something to offer for Jedi again and I will stay and enjoy what there is to enjoy in the game.
My fellow Jedi, what is your answer to my question?

I agree...he will be hitting that cancel button.
As for me, my goal is to be the last man standing. I want to, by default, become a Jedi master because everyone else quit. By then, SWG will look like one of those post-apocolypse movies, where I'm roaming empty streets (well, NPC filled streets) and wielding the most uber 1337 saber around...since it is the last.

Wolf - Yeah know many people that say their gonna keep playing until the servers shut down. So don't worry! You wont have to walk the streets alone! haha
This isn't OUR game to decide how it plays out. Your recourse for a game you don't enjoy is to Cancel.
Just because a game isn't what you expected, or how it used to be, doesn't make it a bad game. It makes you a bad player if you can't learn to adapt.
Same goes with players who plague these forums asking for changes or nerfs cause they can't seem to overcome their enemy.

I will NOT quit, but more jedi who DO quit, more unique will I become!

If the FRS is abandoned, then yes I will leave.
If the FRS is an unmitigated disaster, by which I mean a flimsy series of bug-riddled "quests" that require grouping, are littered with spelling and grammatical errors, and leave Jedi where they are now in terms of advancement and power relative to other professions, then yes I will leave.
If however the FRS allows a Jedi player to advance, over time, to become even a shadowy reflection of the Jedi we see in the movies and the EU, gives Jedi a cause to join in the battle of Light Vs Dark, keeps the GCW intact by not interfering (this CAN be done by giving Jedi a compelling conflict of their own to fight, participation in which precludes them from GCW affairs), is not hopelessly bugged and broken upon release and offers real value for money, then I'll certainly stay and stay for as long as the servers are up.
From my own point of view, the Dev's have everything to win and everything to lose.

Thanks for your comments on my opinions.
The question still stands.
