Let's keep threads like this going because it's something that needs to be dealt with, not cast aside.

I agree, however, you need to put something in there about a reference to Goku's post...

How about this:
Can anyone else think of a way to make the FRS work, while REDUCING Jedi in public, and encouraging teamwork?
If anything, High Ranking Jedi need to be seen the least, as they should be powerful, but if they show off and go around slaughtering people, its just not fun. Sure it would be nice for a Jedi master to take out 50 people. But how fun is that for 50 people?
Kinda defeats the purpose.
Know what they should do?
Add Jedi related titles to visibility.
Have a tournament for Dark Knights, and let the winners take rank every weekend or two.
Let the Light knights Vote in Whoever they want.
But NO FRS points needed for either.
And if any RANKED Jedi is seen with Robes, Saber or Title on by a non-guildmember/non-grouped/non-Jedi they gain visibility.
And anyone with enough visibility to get on the terminals loses their Rank down to knight again.
This removes the ability for people to show off in public and ruin the SWG experience of others.
We need to stop thinking, what do we want, and start with: What does the system need to make this work?

I also want to talk to an NPC to start/finish my trials. I'm not gonna kneel to a statue. Yeah, call me any name you wish, but this is the sole reason that I'm not a Knight, and it will continue to be the reason unless there's another method.

I normally leave petitions alone, but I'll chime in on this one. After seeing that video and being a Star Wars fan for years upon years, it just disgusted me to think that not only is an action such as that condoned, it is also REQUIRED. In my mind, if the FRS is to exist, then there needs to be a removal of Jedi vs. Non-Jedi from the equation.
Basically I would devise a system where the only PVP that gives FRS xp is Light Jedi vs. Dark Jedi. But even that shouldn't be the ONLY way. I feel there should also be an alternative such as fighting Nightsisters and other force-sensitive NPCs. Also there could even be Light/Dark quests that would differ from each other due to the types of roles each should play......(i.e. Light Jedi could resolve disputes similar to the ones seen in KOTOR, and Dark Jedi can partake in assassinations and such.)
As for the banning of the players involved in "fight-clubs".........while many may go so far as to say that this is the only course of action, another large group of players would say these guys were doing what they needed to do to advance. On the one hand it is unfair to the player who climbed the ranks via the risky overt GCW fights. On the other hand it is also allowing Jedi to progress in rank while staying out of the public's eye more or less. I cannot honestly take a side on the issue, because I really do not know what i would do if faced with the same options
Anyways like the original poster said, there needs to bea change. If any Devs just so happen to grace this post with your presence, I urge you to put this issue on your list of priorities. Not necessarily at the top as there are many other more pressing issues in the game that deserve a lot of attention, but I would go so far as to suggest that all progression in the FRS be halted until a better system is designed. And if you need ideas on a better system, there obviously is no lack of suggestions on the part of the player community.

what about making the FRS quest based like the knight trials. make trials for each level with a timer on each stage of each trial. say it takes a week to complete each stage of trials. I know this isn't long but make the trials really tough too. and to obtain master you need jedi ap.

Who thought up the Xp idea? Just let us fight in our Enclaves and get rank that way.

Heres what you do.
Everyone duels in the begining in a Ladder Style Fight.
Winner gets leader and so on and so forth. You can challenge anyone. But they still have their bonuses and you're still your Rank.
And Light jedi, why cant they just vote on rank.
Letsadd a little content here instead of farming Bounty Hunters.

Well how about rock, paper, scissors for ranks? May the force lead you to the correct attacks....

Anyone think maybe there shouldn't be an FRS? A knight is a knight. Theres too many problems with it that can't be totally fixed and there isn't really an advantage to having it. Jedi don't want to fight to the death to save thier precious FRS so they run and hide which isn't fun for the other players or even to the jedi himself. Jedi only come out in huge gank squads b/c they dont really want a fair fight, but a sure-win fight to make sure they get frs. Again no fun for anyone. If there was no FRS, more people wouldn't be afraid of death, gank squads won't be required to level, and it'll be alot less pressure for everyone.
