Is ranged defense still useless for a jedi to have, or has it been fixed? Someone in the trade forums said that it had been fixed. Please advise

never knew it was broke...according to the link below, accuracy affects your chance to hit, while the difference of accuracy versus defense affects how much damage dealt. Now it's not in this post, but i also read at some point (sorry couldn't find the link) that the higher your accuracy versus defense then the higher the damage you do on the damage range of the weapon... the lower the difference of your accuracy vs target's defense then the lower the damage you do on the weapon's damage range. WHICH means... if i'musing a 200-1000 dmg rifle and my accuracy is 100 your defense is 100, i'm probably doing closer to 200 dmg... whereas if i was using a 700-1000 carbine, i'd be hitting for 700's... conversely if i'm a 200 accuracy rifle fighting a 0 defense jedi, then i'd be hitting for closer to 1000 (then add in the dmg mods for the specials i do) wish i could find the link about the accuracy vs defense that covered the damage bonus but i'm pretty sure thats how it works.

so... in short.. i don't think it was ever broke because i've tested it out and it seems to work exactly as i've described it... i do more dmg versus lower defense people and lower dmg versus higher defense skill people... altho not much difference since my wep is 500-700dmg.

in general... rifleman is weak against high defense skill people, pistols/carbines are better for fighting defender jedi for example....

because rifles have a low min and high max...

whereas carbines are middle min and high max....
