Thread: Aura over armor right?

Im was going 4404enhancer 0400powers mls 4100healer. but now that i thought about it, would mls 0040def 4004enhancer 4000healer 0400powers work better? I mean its got a bit more defenses, some innate armor and cuts the dmg in about half, as does armor, but armor takes up force and sucks with AB correct?

I have that second template:
MLS / Def 0040 / Enh 4004 / Healer 4000 / Powers 0400
EXCELLENT template. Combine Aura and the +25 Saber Block you get at MLS, and eat some Air Cake, and less than half of ranged shots will actually hit you.

I use them both.
I'm MLS - Healer 4000 - Defender 3040 - Enhancer 4402.

Yeah, you get both and you'll have Master Defender level of armor, with much fewer skill points. Costs force though.

Not really, master the art of channeling during the fight, and you can be the tank for spin groups with IFA.
MLS/Enh 24x2/def xx4x/healer 2xxx/powers x4xx
Tried it without IFA, but I prefer the security of a little extra armor.. I have nearly a hundred holos and am quite competant with profecient channeling to get by, frees up the SP and allows me the tools to take down master defenders even

It really depends on your style of play. for pve and BH's aura might be better. Against other Jedi and high end mobs Aura really dosen't help much.

I'd say no if your getting that template. The innate armor you have is to low and the damage you take is alot.
Aura by itself isn't very good, I had it as my only defence and was getting hit for 1400 damage from MBH/M Carbs templates.
Force armor will give you around 50% damage reduction all of the time while Aura can often get you killed. If you AB is worry then synthsteak is often enough and agaist lightsaber Aura alone won't save you.

I was that template and it was cool, but with the impending changes to cloak and the fact that many BH exploit through cloak I changed my template to MLS/Enhancer 3402/Defender 0044/Healer 4000. Valor, IFA, and Improved Aura work great because you have very good defense and block with Valor which combined with vayerbok food (+25 block)makes you extremely hard to hit.
