Thread: Community needs an answer please.

As most or all discussions about the proposed changes being made to cloak have gone unanswered or just dissappeared, I think it is time for the Devs or CSR's to let us know exactly what was decided. Many will be changing temp and many are currently grinding to get cloak and rather than allowing your customers to waste valuable time, the community and I want a threaddescribing all changes to cloak in full detail.


Is NPC aggro and LOOT stealing being fixed

Is there going to be a snare on cloaked persons

Will assisting other players via transfer , heal, etc break cloak as it should

Will self healing and channeling to self break cloak


I am sure there are many more questions but I feel these are most important;


ohh and is cloak goin to master box?


Thank you in Advance for your prompt disclosure of SOE's plans for cloak.

Hehe I even stopped grinding cause everything I choose gets nerfed a week later.

We need to know what is going on!


I have an idea why the SOE staff will not tell us what is going on... but I might get banned if I post it here.

Cloak Changes:

The Rifleman's Cover ability and a Jedi's Force Cloak now adhere to a common rule-set that falls in line with the new hiding/stealth system introduced with the Ranger revamp.

Here are some rules common to all types of buffs that remove you from sight (including Force Cloak):


1. Taking any offensive action reveals you instantly (currently the only exception is the Rifleman's ability Conceal Shot).

2. Interacting with some objects in the world instantly reveals you (could be switches, terminals, containers, etc)

3. Some commands cannot be executed and require you to reveal yourself before executing the command

4. All of these buffs can be "toggled off" at any time you wish to become view-able by others

5. Some non-combat actions can also reveal you (like healing for instance)

6. You are afflicted with a movement snare when you are stealthy (rooted when just camouflaged)


What this means:


  • What this means is that as a Cloaked Jedi you will only be able to round around with a Snare.

  • You will not be able to use any offensive abilities (Powers, LS attacks, and/or Roots, Snares, Mezzes). AlsoCloakers will not be able to heal orchannel.

  • This nerf also comes with some fixes to protect Cloakers. The current ways to attack a person under Cloak will be fixed (CMs, Commandline Promts, and possibly AOEs).

  • Cloaked Jedi will not be able to use Starport Terminals, Clone Terminals, Base Terminals, and/or any tye of object that allows for player interaction.

ETA for this will be side by side with the Ranger Revamp.
