Thread: I wonder what this means for Jedi?
While American fans of the PC massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars Galaxies eagerly await tomorrow's release of the game's next expansion pack, Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan, SWG players in a region far, far away are feeling a disturbance in The Force.
On its Web site, Electronic Arts Japan, the game's Japanese publisher, is reporting that it is discontinuing its support for Star Wars Galaxies in the country. Apparently, Japanese gamers who wish to continue on will have their accounts transferred to American or European servers, which remain unaffected.
This isn't the first time the Sony Online Entertainment game has disappointed fans. In addition to bringing the ire of several (perhaps overzealous) fans over support issues, uproar over a recent update(publish 22)nearly started an online boycott of the game. The issue was eventually resolved, with SOE scrapping the planned update.
Obviosuly there wasnt enough Japanese players to justify it.
The Japanese were always smart people.

There must have been originally. I wonder what happened. What could have made so many leave that not ret even retaining one Japanese server was viable?
And UGH I hope EA doesn't sign with LA if LA bumps off SOE, EA ruined BF1942 which started out as a great game and many of their recent games aren't all that successful aside BF2 and obviously the sport series.
OMG OMG THE SKY IS FALLING !!!!11111
