Thread: My Idea as stated in the BH forums
To be honest, given the levels of nerfage that have already occurred I do not believe any special penalties for jedi are in order any longer. (Though I would like to see saber/force powerstef return within npc cities which would allow anyone to attack that jedi regardless of faction or lack thereof, and with no restriction on civilian - combatant or special forces status.) The only population control that would have any hope of working over time is closing the door to entry.

Its a nice idea but I dont think the DEVs will go for it
To be honest I think Order 66 is about to commence and thats why the DEVs will not consider. They're going to call it nerf but I honestly think they have a plan to thin down the Jedi population.
But your idea was nice
OP: Of course no other prof has the ability to hunt Jedi. That's why we're called BOUNTY HUNTERS...
And as far as keeping PvP to the GCW...between the Jedi Ganksquads (on Bria) and the MDoc/Melee Profs...us ranged guys have no chance. As much as I'd love to really participate in the GCW...it's pointless anymore.
I love fighting Jedi, win or lose, it's great. Two people dueling it out across the deserts of Tatooine is one of the most "Star Warsy" things about this game...and yeah, the xp loss is bunk. There's no controlling the Jedi population...without perma death. Which is just plain retarded. You shouldn't be forced to lose your toon for any reason. If the devs want to control Jedi population, install a more random/harder/quest based system...not this "kill 3 million Bols and you will be a Jedi" crap they have now.
And to me, PVP is one of the greatest aspects of this game. To take it out simply because a small percentage don't like it, would totally nerf it for the overwhelming majority who do. Besides, it would probably lead to accounts getting cancelled (like mine) and SOE is in it for the cash...

I was sitting here thinking about things, and I have came up with a better system. I don't agree with Players hunting Players just don't, I also don't think that it is notthe job of Bounty Hunters to control the jedi population.
Here is my Solution - For grinding jedi, there should be a correlation between visibility and a system that places an XP penalty on the jedi.
Example - A grinding Jedi gets low visibility soinstead of getting 1k xp per gurk you get 800 xp, medium visibility 500 xp and so on. These are just figures I threw out there but the more visibility you obtain the more of a percentage penalty you are faced with. The penalty wears off as your visibility wears off. This would keep alot of jedi in check b/c you know as soon as you whip out that saber in Cnet that you are going to suffer a certain % of xp you can gather for the duration of your visibility. The system wouldkeep jedi in check, and would stop player grieving, AFK in Houses, Triple Incaps etc.Its not the communities' job tokeep jedi numbers down, or make them act in a way that resembles the jedi. That is up to the Devos and with stiff penalties, you can keep the jedi from running around wild.
Now you ask about finished Template jedi, install a new FRS. Have a similar property with the old FRS that knights are perma-overt, I imagine they won't be cruising around solo trying to gank people, or dueling in major cities. For fear of a large group of the opposing faction coming for them.
My point is, its not the job of the Bounty Hunter to police the Jedi. Sure alot of you enjoy it, but what other profession has this ability? So why should just BHs get this content and no other profession. Make it fair across the board Player Vs Player should be kept in the GCW, and policing jedi should be the Devos' responsibility by improving the game mechanics.
eh? how do you clear vis then.... ?
