New Player Bounty System Release Information!

Ok….Since SOE and LA removed player bounties from the game, I propose that we follow in the footsteps of the great N’Varra Wren, and create our own.For years N’varra, upset with the apparent lack of content in the game has been creating her own mini-games, quests, and content for the player base on Eclipse, and it has been received VERY well!

This is still in the initial planning stage, and I need your input!

Player bounties under the NGE are non-existant, however, with careful planning and mature play, we will be able to keep a version of the system alive! This will require 2 basic factions. The hunters and the hunted.

To achieve the factional spilt, players would join one of two sides, for purposes of this example we will call them HUNTER and HUNTED(HSmuggler, HCommando, HJedi, for example)(this could work with any existing guilds though, this separate guild functionality may be more immersive)

Any player with a grievance against a member of the HUNTED guilds seeks out a member of the HUNTER guild and files a petition and death warrant with HUNTER.The player posting the bounty would pay up front to the HUNTER guild, which would keep the money “in escrow” in the guild’s PA HALL until the bounty was complete. The HUNTER council then “posts” this death warrant to the guild via guild email, with the mark’s name, general information about the grievance, price of the death warrant, and an email address for “proof of death” screen shots.

HUNTER members, then go out and hunt down the mark (though without seekers, and probes).Upon a successful mission, the HUNTER member takes a screenshot and emails it via the internet to the council member who posted the bounty. The council then verifies that the death was “clean” and accurate and pays the HUNTER from the escrow account. The player who posted the original bounty is notified of the death of the mark.Council then sends out a guild email canceling the effective bounty on the mark.

That is the general idea that I am working on.This system is predicated on maturity.Only players wishing to participate will be involved. The HUNTER guild and the HUNTED guilds would declare permanent guild wars on each other.

Rules:

1. Only players wishing to participate will

2. Any player who attacks another without an active bounty (outside of PvP, ie Rebel vs Imperial) can 3. be brought up on charges, and banned from the guild for griefing

4. Bounties will ONLY be paid for valid “proof of death” screenshots emailed to the HUTNER council.

5. HUNTER members *may* team up on a bounty, though the original amount will be split between members of the HUNTER group engaged with the mark

6. HUNTED are allowed to help their team-mates in peril from HUNTERs

7. Any member of either side is eligible to be either a HUNTER or a HUNTED.If you are wearing either guild tag… you are either a hunter or a mark.

This is strictly voluntary!!!At anytime, anyone wishing to participate may join, or leave. No questions asked!

All guilds would have a leadership council that would ban members who reported attacked one another when no bounty was posted, or out of “revenge” for a slaying.

This system idea is based off of the limited information in the Bounty Hunter Wars involving the Bounty Hunter’s Guild. It will function very similar to that of the guild in the books.

Please, let me know what you think!I have posted this on Eclipse Galaxy Board, the Jedi Board and the Bounty Hunter Forum, but please post all comments to the BH forum so that I can keep them all in one place!

With a little tweaking I like this idea. Why make this type of game play dead. Im a jedi nd will miss BH after me. SOmetimes I win, sometimes I lose, but it gives a more real feel to the game, I support you 100%

I hadn't seen that Glarg, but I LIKE it!! The only thing I am trying to work around on this, is that it would require both sides to leave their current guilds.... unless that guilds were totally into the expereince.

when they were posting the new ranger stuff with the steal skill, the talked about it. the new docs look like the steal skill has moved to snuggler. i think these will be loads of fun.

I must be on of the few BH's left that is actually excited about this thing. Truth be told, I don't really care that player bounties are gone.... I hated killing level 57 paddies when I thought I'd be pulling a level 80 Jedi mission.... I like the "opt-in" method to be honest. It makes for more exciting and enjoyable play. Let's be honest, it was NOT challenging to kill the Jedi, in the end.... SL revamp just make it far too easyto take out a non-full template and most full-template Jedi... sad really.

I love FPSs because of the tactics of ducking around corners, behind stuff, etc. This is going to be cool! Can't wait for TC to come up

Yes, but this is an "opt-in" situation for players still looking for the "thrill" of hunting and being hunted. Nice thing is... you Jedi can join the HUNTER side too!

Get's my support.

My Jedi- sorry Force Sensitive - is a spoilt Twi'lek aristocrat greedy for knowledge. She deserves a good spanking.

She'll play.

Hehe! Nice

Anyone have comments to help out with the system? Did I miss anything? Does anything need to change to implement this properly?

I love the idea. but how about we just have two normal Guilds that are opposite Factions into a guild war for letsjust 1-2 weeks then Imperials are the hunters, and after their week the Rebels are the Hunters. i thought that would be a lot simpler than making two entire new guilds....

I support player-driven content.

But, honestly, I won't miss being hunted. I tolerated it for 18 months now, and I think I've had enough to last me a good long while.
