Thread: Are skill points a thing of the past or....
Looks like you have the just of it. There is no more need of skill points and you will train automatically (from what I can tell) and you will not be able to customize your characters abilities, but you will get to choice which ones you will use in combat. Only people that get to customize will be the crafters.
Hope this helps.
As I understand it, what's being added is a CLASS system. When you create your char, you pick a class (one of the 9), and you can't switch classes (other than the reward respecs). But, within that class, we may very well still have to pick a limited number of skills from a larger pool.
I dont make idle threats. But this lack of flexibilty is one of the main reasons why I didn't stay on WOW while the rest of my guild moved over to it. I liked being able to pick and choose with the disciplines. I am MLS, def 4440, healer 4000 and enhancer 3002.
But it appears that all jedi will now have all the same skills with the exception of the veterans having a little more damage than the new jedi.

I'm personally still unclear on this.

i get the same feeling. There's 9 classes, and under each of those 9 classes, are subclasses where you customize your class even further.
2 people could be in the spy class, but they take different skills under that class.

This would be nice. Would still allow for some unique characters, while grouping skills together in classes and making equality-balancing easier to achieve.
