Thread: a question about pearl/crystal tuning

is it true that how far along you are in jedi has nothing to do with the tune you get from a crystal/pearl? for instance, i just got padawan do i have the same chance of getting a good tune as a full template jedi? and also do pearls tune better than crystals? cause they sure do sell better
has anyone tuned premium pearls / flawless?..
if so how did it go?.. i turned one premium pearl Post-CUand it was horrible.. so i ended up saving my 9 premium pearls and 1 flawless pearl.. still have them now.. just scared to death to tune them.
The only thing I can figure out about tuning, is don't do it during peak times.
The biggest effect causing tunes to suck seems to be server load. I just now tuned two fair crystals; one was 65, -.05, -6 FC and another was 74, -.13, -7 FC.

This is very good for 'fair' crystals, and far better than the tunes I've been getting from Quality crystals of late. The *only* difference I can figure out was that I tuned the Qualities as soon as I got them, between 5 pm and 8 pm EDT (peak load times) while the two crystals I just tuned I did around 5:10 am EDT (definitely not a lot of people on.)Server load leads to server lag, server lag leads to a delay in generating stats, a delay in generating stats leads to poor tunes as the server assigns baseline stats just to get it over with.Even at low load times, though, you're still looking at completely random numbers, though.
You have no evidence of this. Dont post this info as you know it to be the fact. Its your guess.

Well there might be something too this... The way a cpu generates a random number is actually controlled by the temp in the core, and the server cpus are warmer when the load is high, however the random number generation only need a microscopic change in temp to give a different result so it shouldn't really matter if the core is 100 degrees F or 115F coz a full cycle of random possibilities have gone several times on such a "big" temp difference
Last night I tuned a "Good" pearl I looted of a Giant Cayon Krayt, it tuned 117 damage, which I was really impresed with, but only -4 FC, so I doubt I will use it. What was strange was just to test I used it to replace my lowest damage pearl a 96 -7FC with it , and theDPS went down. I assume this was due to the speed modifer differnce.-.17on the 117 and-.28 on the 96.
I have tuned about 10 Post Cu goods. None have been good enough to use, but that one was close.
