We worked our **edit** of to be Jedi yet on the morning of the 15th, someone who reached CL80 in less than a week can become a full temp Jedi and work up to CL90. This to me is a complete slap in the face to all us who invested the thousands of hours to become Jedi.

I hate what's coming, but I will see what it's like. I think If Jedi is to remain even remotely special and out of PURE RESEPCT for the hard work we put in, anyone wishing to be a Jedi who's not one already should have to start from scratch. This is my main bone with the new stuff being forced our way.

Ahem, and I quote:

Knowing this could be a difficult transition for many of our players, we have lined-up several options to help make this as easy as possible. First, you will be allowed to choose any one of the nine professions and transition to that profession at a level commensurate with your current level. For example, if you are maxed-out at level 80, you will transition over as a level 80 character into your profession of choice. Veterans (all players having started their characters before the enhancements are introduced) will receive nine review ("re-spec") opportunities that allow them to sample the new professions before making a final decision. This gives everyone the opportunity to try out each of the new professions at least once at their current skill level. In the event you are unhappy with your choice of profession, you can "re-spec" and try out one of the others until you find the one you like best or until you are at your final opportunity.

It says ANY one of the NINE professions.

Will you tell me where you got this info... based on Tiggs' responses I do not think that is the case. I would love to believe you and want it to be that way... but it does not soundlike it will be. If you read Dev tracker and all the responses from Tiggs it sounds like any lvl 80 can have a lvl 80 jedi

Tiggs has said there is no difference between FS and Jedi. Jedi is not something unlocked from FS.

Again, the offcial FAQ:

4. Jedi = Luke Skywalker

Jedi are Force Sensitive beings that can use their Force powers to over-come and control their enemies and can master the art of fighting with a lightsaber. Force Sensitive individuals feel a connection to the energy that surrounds all living things and binds the galaxy together.

General Skills:

  • Lightsaber Combat

  • Force Powers

  • Meditation

Special:

  • Block Blaster Bolts- Block Blaster bolts using a Force powered lightsaber.

  • Force Lightning- Call down the Force power of lightning to weaken your opponent's strength during battle.

Looks like Jedi to me.

They way I understand the information put out to this point is that they could become a cl80 Jedi immediately, but would not get the extra robe and crystal that existing Jedi would get as a reward for already unlocking. Of course none of us has any idea what those trees look like either. Could be FS is an entire profession you have to finish before becoming eligible to enter the Jedi profession or it could be that FS and Jedi are interwoven. Just not enough info yet to really understand it all clearly.

I also keep wondering how they plan to avoid cookie cutter professions if it is just a lineal progression? Talent trees like WoW? Skills to invest in like KOTOR? Need some 411.

jedi will be for ppl who want to play one now, not for the uber must pwn you at pvp types, so who cares.

i know a lot of cool ppl who might want to be a jedi, but never would grind out all the time (they have lives i believe). everyone will be more or less equal, so who cares if joe rodian respecs from arch to jedi. have fun and play your own game, and learn not to judge your worth by how someone else achieves the same.

theres more to being a jedi then a respec. you need to make a saber. get pearls, etc. how my jedi would suck without a saber

so sure, if they get jedi, but then what? no saber

what good is that?

lol
