This HAS to be an executive choice. They changed directions with the snap of a finger. It started as a rumor, thrown aside by Tiggs after someone posted about it here ("Thats a KoToR advertisement mislabeled...") Meanwhile, they were posting what they were doing to improve Ranger for patch 25. Then suddenly this all came about.

THis makes no sence. Ppl say this person donest deserve jedi cause SOE changed how to get jedi, Ppl say everyone complained to much about a broken game from SOE, PPl blame selling Jedi/Ebay Jedi from players that got tired of the game because of SOE's lack of developement and fixes. Ppl blame the sploiters and such. Everyone is blaming each other for stuff that SOE did on its own, they dont care about ppl that took advatage of bugs, they dont care about the ebay jedi. Stop blaming each other and blame the ones that realy did this SOE and LA. They made the choices, not the players. They are changing it cause of lack of subscriptions, lack of interest in the game. They are trying to salvage the game as best they can, its a dieing, has been since CU1, and before that. They trying to save it, there failing but there trying. They trying for a diffrent group of players cause the majoity of ppl will leave after CU2. Just pleas stop blaming each other. No good comes from it just makes us all look like a bunch of whining children.

This honestly has nothing to do with the players. This is all about investors vs. Chairpeople of the game.

Exactly, players had no part of this, the devs, chairsppl, and higher ups did this. Not the player base.

It's simple. Players won't keep paying for a game that's basically not going good (IE we keep getting hit with nerfs.)
So they must be taking the following steps...
-Someone high up relieved someone's "command" of the game because they either made their profit quota, or they see the game is going to rapidly tumble.
-That person now decided to Downgrade choices in game/downgrade variables (professions/content) = costs cut by cutting dev resources (LIKE they had any to begin with),
-Old subscribers will quit, thus no new revenue, try to reward them with a booby prize, try to keep them in the door, but watch them leave anyway.
-Reward new players with the prize, a SIGN ON Bonus (anyone military knows about that one :/ ), the porsche of SWG, but only for a sign on bonus, (IE their 19.95 and an unknown way to get it, since they're ditching the village) Milk the living crap out of the Star Wars franchise liscense like other companies have before them.
-Bait and switch, the new players keep playing 1-2 months, then realize that SOE isn't going to give them Jedi, but they're so new they don't really take it personal too much, they just quit within 1-3 months (No glowie? No Path? "Less than 50 bucks? Lets find a new Xbox/PS2 game to replace this crapfest!!"), SOE still makes money off their initial purchase, or they become "Sleeper accounts" which keep paying the bills for no work to the devs.
-Devs make profit over their expected death of the game, They let the game die, no real improvements as they cut dev costs to minimal, Game slowly dies but they continue to make money off sleeper accounts. They make back what was invested. Game goes back into the Lucas vault under "Bad Ideas." SWG2 never will happen EVER due to this same ideal.
Which would you choose as a chair person?
Veteran players just paying 15 + 15 + 15 + 15 and keep having to provide top notch services?
Or
Newbie player, lure them in for 19.95 + 15 + 15 +15 +15 and only have to provide them with enough to get them to start and forget it just using the star wars name alone.
