Anyone willing to test out just how much of a 'defense' force valor provides?
Say, if you have xxx4 lightsaber and defender xxx4 only.
I know valor lowers your damage output to nearly zilch but still Id like to know if it at least it prevents lots of incoming damage ... aka provide a 'breather' space for you to use foods or consider your next move.

This has not been in the game for quite a while, valor no longer has a damage reduction.
As for how well it works, consider this MLS gives players a +5 to Block. Valor (4th box) essentially gives a player a +25 bonus to ranged Block.
So you deflect and block a significant amount of ranged shots. And it is worth it if you are weak on Ranged Defenses.
Also don't just diregard Force Aura is also important, as it also will cause even ranged attacks to miss, and so a small percentage of less damage. (Aura has a 50% damage reduction against NPC/Creatures as well as causing them to miss, in PVP the damage is lowered by about 10%)
As a MD having Force Aura on can be the difference of watching your health tick away slowly to watching your health drop faster than you blink. Even in PVP as the other players miss you more often, aura makes a large differnce the amount os damage you continually take.
For Valor also consider how you will play, if you are wanting it just to help with BHs, it is less of a necessity, as you will eventually be strong enough to usually not need it against the 'average' BH.
However if you PVP in situations with Ranged profession, or you do a lot of NPC fighting - like factional bases where a mass of NPCs are shooting at you at high damage and an alarming rate, then it will very important.
(I'm a MD, so have the luxury of both - although my husband with MP/ME does quite well without either of these abilties.
Once your template is put together larning your abilities and best moves will be an ongoing thing. As important as the tress you chose.
Good Luck,

I laugh when I see these posts.
VALOR DOES NOT REDUCE ANY ABILITY TO DO DAMAGE!!!
Can you hear that or do I need to turn it up?
As for using valor, I would not leave home without it.

I can understand why people are asking if Force Valor lowers your damage,it statesthat it does on your skills screen (take a look). Hopefully its a mistype becasue if indeed it has no effect on damage...AWSOME!!
