Hello, everyone. I’m certain that I am going to be flamed for writing this post, but the ideas that it contains must be written. I have been worried as of late by a very unhealthy trend on the forums. These games are designed to be addictive; it’s how the developers pay the bills and keep the servers online. However, from the things I’ve read on the forums, the hatred resulting from a simple change to gameplay on a fantasy-based MMORPG is ridiculous. I’ve heard people throw vulgar comments toward the developers, believing that they have actual control over this fantasy-based MMORPG.

I personally have quit this game four times since its launch date. I have been frustrated by changes on multiple occasions, but rather than posting derogatory comments on the forums as many of you tend to do, I instead choose to cancel. I do this because I’m not addicted to this game. When I came back from Anarchy Online, Everquest II, World of Warcraft, and Guild Wars, it wasn’t because I was addicted to Star Wars Galaxies but because I am a Star Wars fan. What drew me back to SWG those four times was not SWG’s combat system; far better implementations exist in other MMORPGs. I was drawn back because of the enjoyment Star Wars provides me.

Read over your posts before you submit them. Personal attacks on developers or other players only serve to suggest that you have an unhealthy relationship with your fantasy online avatar.

I understand that many of you are upset that the effort you have put into diversifying your characters is being nullified in the NGE, but do remember that the ability to play on SOE’s servers is a privilege and not a right. We cannot claim ownership of our characters or items. Withholding mention of the NGE until after Trials of Obi-Wan went retail was a smart business move.

Realize that Star Wars Galaxies is simply a game intended to be played in your free time. If you hold SWG in such serious regard and can only resort to personal attacks when confronted with opinions differing from your own, consider taking the high road and canceling your account. Travel to your local software retailer and purchase another game.

Like all other MMORPGs, Star Wars Galaxies was designed to be addictive. If you discover that you’ve suffered emotional damage from changes to gameplay mechanics, you may very well be addicted.

Hi everyone sure im gonna get flamed for this post but it must be said.I have seen a very unhealthy trend as of late on the forums kinda worries me.These games are designed to be addictive, its how they pay the bills and keep the server's online. But from the things ive read on forums latley the haterd generated by some thing like a change to gameplay on a FANTASY based MMORPG is rediculous.Ive heard people throw vulgar comments towards Developers, like they really have control over this FANTASY based MMORPG.

I personaly have quit this game 4 times since launch date.I myself at times i have been frustrated by multiple changes, but unlike a lot of you guys instead of getting on the forums calling people idiots,noobs......i just quit.Know why?Im not addicted to this game. When i came back from Anarchy Online-EQ2-WOW-Guild wars- it wasnt because i was addicted to SWG it was because im a Star Wars fan period. There are much better MMORPG combat systems than SWG ever had,not why i came back 4 times.Again its just because im a fan of the Star wars series. My point is this guys before you decide to print a post, read it over.If anywhere in that post you are degrading another player,or a developer ill be honest to normal people it makes you look like you have an unhealthy relationship with your FANTASY online avatar.I know a lot of u guys are pissed, you have spent many a 14.95 to get your char where he is,just for SWG to make you a NGE clone.Understood.

But please remeber we pay to play on SOE's servers. We DO NOT own the char, items in the game.So if sony wants to change there game and not tell all of us that bought the expansion about the NGE thats our loss,Call them dirty i call it a smart bussiness move. All im saying is that jedi that for some abnormal reason that you are so emotionaly attached too, almost to the point where i think some of u guys feel u are "really" a jedi is the sole property of SOE and its affiliates. Its just a game guys thats all, meant to be played in your free time. Its not meant to be taken litteraly to the point where you get to insulting anyone that differs from your opinion. If you dont like the changes do the adult thing,go to my account and cancel subscription.Go to Best Buy,find another game its a pretty simple process, ive done it 4 times=p

This and all online MMORPG's are designed to be additive,if you have found yourself emtionaly damaged from something like a FANTASY video game changing its combat system......................................u might be addicted.

hehe....you came back....only now do you understand the true power of the dark side.....
