Thread: Observations Regarding BH mission Timings with regards to Login

It would seem that when logging in, it's about 20 - 30 mins before a BH will turn up, (normally at least 2 within that time period), and then it goes quiet till you logout.

So my guessing is,

  • the system waits about 20 mins before issueing your mission to the terminal,

  • You Mission is issued to 3 BH's

  • You are then off the terminals for the remainder of your gaming session.

Exclusions to this seem to be doing a quick re-log (due to crashes / glitches etc) does not seem to get you to the point as if you had first logged in - So it looks like you need to be offline maybe 10 mins before it resets.

So unless a BH is holding your mission (cause they have a grudge and want to explicitly fight you), you can generally expect the BH to turn up about 20 mins after login (since 20mins online suggests you are staying online and not doing a quick check of things), And then expect a peacefull remainder of your gaming session.

This of course does give us a great advantage. We can choose the location that we want for the fights, Since they will turn up within that 20-45m period (if any are going to). It allows us to get buffed and then wait somewhere for them away from all the hussle and bussle of cities & spawns. It allows us to keep a spawn of high lvl stuff nearby so that we can use them to agro them. And quite simply, it takes away their first strike advantage cause we are ready for them and can see them coming (specially if you pick somewhere quiet) - Since you've picked somewhere that nobody else would be !

Maybe more BH's will start to find Fully Buffed Jedi standing in quiet forests waiting for them.

Anybody noticed this, or have different experiences ?

after going 2 weeks of not playing my jedi (crapy laggy connection with about 5 sec delay is reason y) i logged him because i wanted to sell a armor attachment and as i was logging in there was a blue dot within 15m that i did a /duel to said he could already attack me and then he killed me. that happend within 1 min of logging in of 2 weeks of being inactive. Think that disproves ur 20-30min wait to get on the terms

As soon as you loggin the mission shows on the terms. Most likely its taking the bh 20 odd mins to track you.

It's possible that it is taking 20 mins for a BH to get my mission, as the tracking part only takes about 3 or 4 mins , but if you take the BH sequence,

Get Mission, (seconds)

Get Informant (maybe takes 1min from getting mission)

Go Outside City & launch Probe (2 mins)

Get Result (20 secs or something like that)

Go Back to starport & Travel to Destination Planet (2 mins)

Arrive Destination and head to your location (depends on how far from starport you are) (2 mins)

So that would put the quickest they could attack you (unless they already had your mission - remembering 3day timeout) as about 7mins , unless of course you login almost next to them at the point where they've launched the probe !

The above is based on personal experience.

Has anybody had any attacks past the 1hr point of being logged in? - how often do these attacks occur?

I logged in one day, took a BH 15 mins to pick my mission up, and on my server I also noticed I never got hunted at night anymore, all the Imp BH's go to sleep early I guess.

If there are 10-20 Jedi on the terminals, its possible that your mission will not pop up right away, so it may take anywhere from 1 second to 60 minutes for a BH to grab your specific mission. Lets use 5 minutes as a timeframe.

BH Grabs mission: 5 minutes

BH goes to informant: 10 seconds

BH launches droid and sends your bio sig: 2 minutes

BH gets buffs: 1-5 minutes (Depends on line)

BH launches seeker: 2 minutes

BH travels to your destination: 1-5 minutes

Total: 9 minutes 10 seconds to 19 minutes 10 seconds

So it would be logical to assume that within that timeframe your most likely to get attacked. But there are a few variables that can screw this up (your rate of movement, how long it takes the BH to get your mission, and, of course, if you are a known Knight, they will drop your mission, making it take longer).

Oh, I've never not been attacked past an hour. On Eclipse there is a list of the Knights and when someone gets a mission on one, they generally drop it and move on. (The latest BH who have attacked me have been respec BH without any badges, who probably don't know that there is a list).
