Thread: Visibility and Dueling in a Group

Just a quick question, but do you gain visibility from dueling someone that is grouped with you? I haven't had the opportunity to check this myself yet, but a few friends were intending to practice pvp'ing against one another and avoid building vis by limiting the pvp'ing practice sessions to 8 people, all of whom would be grouped together.


would visibility still build, or would the grouping prevent this? thanks.

form what ive read just logging in your jedi toon gives you vis and puts your name on the terminals...lol im being sarcastic but who really knows. the rules are pretty vague these days.Im under the impression though from reading the post about visibility rules that as long as everyone that you are dueling is in your group youre fine and you will not gain visibility






Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

From what i understand as long as you are grouped you gain no vis. I hunt in group regulary and have not have a BH come after me in over a month.. But i am very cautious, never use power when there are NPC close, dont walk around in robes with saber out, and dont use power or even have my robe/saber equipt around people unless they are grouped. It seems to work pretty well. I duel in group a good amount and hunt with group all the time. Not sure if i am on terms or not, but like i said i have not had a BH come for me in over a month now. So i do not belive duelin in group gives you Vis.

i think your sarcasim might be true because i logged on from a week break and had a bh after me within 10 min

yeah, i hunt with a few of these friends on a regular basis as well while grouped and have yet to see a bh, so i'm aware that you don't gain vis from group members. i just wasn't sure if there was some coding or bug that would negate the protectionfrom gaining visibility while grouped if you dueled someone in your group.


basically was hoping some people that had avoided getting on the terms had done this with no ill effect and could state same. otherwise i'll just test it myself. thanks though.
