Thread: defender 4000 questions

I believe melee def helps vs any melee prof even jedi right. So if that is true how useful is the +70 ya get from it. Would a jedi that has that have a really big advantage over a jedi that does not? Obviously there is a much bigger picture in a jedi vs jedi fight but i just wanted to know melee def would help alot being as it is the only other def ya can get for vs jedi. How many people get the melee def line is that somethign that is a staple of the jedi temp? I dont see many peeps talkin about having that line but in my many discussions with myself i try to figure out what temp i wanna finish with. Im gonna be all over the place with my temp at this point. Well any and all feedback woudl be great. Thanks

i can just talk for me and in my opinion its not very usefull, i dabbled to def4000 and i just felt some less damage at lowlevel mobs but in pvp or anything else i dont saw a big change maybe its a bit usefull with some food and the extra 20 melee defence from the force sensitive trees.
so i dont think its very usefull, hope it helped you a bit and i think there is a older threat with the same question anywere in this forum with some good answers.

its very handy in PVE if you guild hunt with your m8s.
Its handy against TK's as well with bio clothes your melee defs are 102 or something cant remember dont look.

Hate to tell ya, but defender is kinda an all or nothing Skill. Saying that it'll be the most fun you've have dying.

nice mate. Ok im VERY glad i posted this as i thought it was uber for pvp. Goes to show what i know. Yall think i shoudl bother with even novice then or should i jstu stay away from the whole thing since i would only consider 4000 as a posibility? Thanks a ton mates.

NJDruid i jsut noticed ya temp and if my math is correct yo cant get all that. you could only get MLS 4004, heal 4004 enh adn 4002 def(or some combo of those. Is there somethign im missing or are you pre 9 adn that is ya pre 9 temp? Thanks

Don't waste your time with it if you want to PvP. I'm almost finished retemplating after picking up that line. It was useless.

That amount of melee defense is also useless in high-level PvE. I've got similar melee defense from normal professions, and with melee defense food and +25 in attachments I'm just about untouchable by the stuff I grind on (mereks, rancors, etc). I've tried taking out blurgg raptors and stoneskin hanadaks just to break up the monotony, and they hit me almost every time.

The only melee # of any worth is Melee Mitigation. Any 1 know where I can buy some Melee Mitigation SEAs?? =D lol
