Well, 10 hours after my account was banned for my "Looted a Message Fragment off a DJM" post, I'm back and wondering what the status of thingsare in regards to the uproar of 24:

1 - Have we had ANY sort of feedback from customer relations / corrospondants addressing just how gamebreaking these changes are not only for Jedi but for all melee proffessions in this game?

2 - Has the "no confidence" post been replicated and subsiquently deleted time and time again reinforcing the poor customer relations policies this company seems to endorse?

3 - Has anyone in game or out determined any counter to the I win.... er.... snare effect?

4 - Any otherproffession bugs been discovered? (glanced at the first page about force aura not working now?)

Hmmm, counters to the snare....

1) a snare in return. When yours wears off, catch the other player before theirs wears off. Then root them.

2) Stasis. If you are snared and they run out of Stasis range, hit forcerun and hit autorun. wait for snare to wear off, be ready with Stasis attack.

3) get a laser rifle. Lame, but an option. 64m range, not necessarily a ton of accuracy, but better than standing there with your lightsaber and out of attack range, wasting effort to heal yourself nonstop.

4) (my personal favorite) Get yourself out of the BH encounter in any way possible and deny BH's content. This because:

a) there is no reward for killing a BH

b) you generate more visibility fighting a BH

c) the only thing a Jedi gets out of an encounter with a BH is the opportunity to lose xp. Why bother?

Wow, sounds like fun ... NOT!

Another option to constantly being snared:

Run away from your attacker, not towards them. Use any obstacles to block their aim at you.

They will either try to kite you and get themselves out of range (reducing their shots against you - less damage - less healing needed), or chase you and have trouble not getting too close to you (within your attack range - use a root), or they will spend so much time moving in and out of attack range that they'll get frustrated and screw up on the snaring, and then root them and snare them and slam them into the ground.

Eventually tactics will develop and become second nature.

But, in my opinion, the pendulum has swung too far towards ranged players now, whereas before we saw melee be the uber choice, now we see ranged to be the overpowering option to use, so once again there is a great disparity in choosing either fighting style. It's pretty unfortunate, but extremes in design are the bread and butter of SWG. So it has been, and so it always shall be.

I agree, but that's what people were trying to tell them on TC. They won't believe it until they see the same reaction in Live. That's the choice they made, and that's the reaction they're seeing. No big surprise, just unfortunate tumultuous hell to put the playerbase through.

Besides, when the hell were 1/2 hour or one hour long fights fun anyways? They haven't been since the CU came around, and nothing's been done to correct it -it gets so dang tedious I just want to die sometimesjust to get the stupid fight over with. I see a cookie cutter BH with CM in their template, and I just friggin' stasis them and get on with my game. I'm tired of bothering with them. They can follow me all night, but the hours they spend to get absolutely nowhere with me as I run here there and everywhere across the planet are pure amusement for me, and an hour of that is WAY more fun than hitting lame commands and watching the rear end of a BH and they shoot over their shoulder and heave bags of crap at me filled with poisons or whatever. Also, Ispare some defenseless Jedi from actually losing xp.

2) Stasis. If you are snared and they run out of Stasis range, hit forcerun and hit autorun. wait for snare to wear off, be ready with Stasis attack.

And I wish more people would.

No reward = no reason to fight a BH. To me, it's just common sense.

Ok heres another one

5 -Whats the deal with BHs being able to use SL buffs? So the lockout that occurs during a Jedi / BH encounter applies to everyone BUT a grouped squad leader? Those buffs are fairly significant from what Ive seen, and theres posts about where people are one-shotting Jedi with the right combination. That needs to be adressed post haste.

SL buffs clear when i get attacked by BH. Not sure if it's just me, or people are trying to mislead everyone into freaking out.
