Thread: advice on attempting to get a saber up to 600-700 with post cu resources etc

Do it about the same way you'd do lottery tickets, since that's exactly what it is. If you can stomache dumping a load of $$$ on scratch offsto end up with a big mess of worthless stubs, then have at it. If you dobetter with a couple of tickets a week from pocket change, then buy a few crystals at a time.


Myself I'm not a gambeling man. I spend my credits on attachments and I know what I'm paying for. When I have nothing better to do, my alt is surfing the bazzar (global vendor locations) for attachments untill I get sick of that, then I head to the Corsair Stronghold. I can come away from there with 6-7 crystals an hour for close to free.

i would NEVER buy a crystal in this era...


Loot em yourself and tune em...you'll feel better than you would if you dropped hundreds of thousands of credits on them

loot krayts, good pearls tune better then anything else currently IG in my opinion. Where is rather obvious.

I'm mostly a post CU jedi. I have not tuned any premiums or quality. My saber is 600ish, with a fc of around 21. Certainly not uber, and certainly not good enough for BH's, but, good enough to grind. Stay off the boards.

I do. But with every ranged weapon I loot with my Bounty Hunter alt or am given as a quest reward that's twice as good as the saber I've been trying to boost for months up to the level of what I have with my Bounty Hunter alt, this game just gets more and more depressing to play. And now, the grim prediction I made months ago looks like it may be coming to pass: The only way a post-CU paddie can improve his saber is to buy TOW and loot this Chu-Gon-Dar crystal, if that's it's correct name.


And another thing: I'm really, really getting tired of surrounding myself with dead monkey butts. I have two more boxes to fill with my Jedi main (one-handed sabers IV and Master LS), and I'm done with his grind. I sure would like to actuallyplay the game with him.

does anyone have any advice for me,im desperately trying to make my saber into the 600-700 range without having high fc with all post cu resources,pearls and crystals.So does anyone know how i should approach this. No jokes please like time machine,buy prems,don't bother i just want advice.

find resources with high conductivity to help bring down the initial ability cost. Try to find a ls experimentation suit, my guildie has one and hooks us up with using it. with ls tech 4 i just made a sac 96 and fc 14 after pearls saber. Of course trying to get and tune as many crystals/pearls as possible until you get some decent tunes(i know, hard but still a way to improve).

I tuned about 120 fair crystals the other day and damage wise I would have been able to make a 600+ damamge saber there was a 95, 96, 97, and a 104. the problem was though that the FC was a -4 at besst and the best speed was a -.17. None of these were better than the 4 premium crystals in my saber right now. So getting the damamge isnt that rough its getting the damage and a good fc/speed that makes it a pita. Right now the only answer is to farm as many crystals/pearls as you can.
As far as resources go Id strongly recomend getting a saber kit that people sell using the 30k kits. Im sure someone on your server sells them and they are generally worth the money.

i've already crafted numerous lightsabers with current server best resources and i have mls[haven't been able to borrow a ls suit yet],only problem about farming pearls is it takes so long i've hunted quite often but only seem to get a few every couple hours.I was thinking of trying to make a lot of money [something along the lines of 40mill]and spending it all on loads of pearls/crystals but im not sure about it as i've seen quite a few posts about people who have tuned a 100pearls with no good results.

honestly, just loot and tune as many crystals as you can.... my bud went from 500 to 700 damage and strangely enough, his best tunes were from 'Fair' crystals.
