I've seen alot of post with players that think that a Master and Apprentice relationship would be a fun aspect to intoduce into this game. Though this can already be done through role playing i would like to post and idea that would incourage people to get involved in it. Here is how it would work.

-The relationship would have to be developed between a Jedi Knight and a non-full temp padawan. As a full temp jedi is ready to face the Knight trials and be instated as a jedi night.

-The relationship would be estabilished through some form of offer and acceptance and can be terminated at any time.Much like the current marriage ability. Though no ring would be needed as this relationship has nothing to do with matramony.

-The benifits of the relationship would be as follows:

1) Once a relationship is established neitherthe padawan nor the Knightwould generate visibility towards each other even when not grouped. This may seem silly as it is really easy to form a two man group but it should be part of it as the two players would be connected through the force. And as such visibility would be shared amongst the two as long as the relationship is intact or as long as both players are online at the same time.

2) Any force ability like aura, force speed, force sheild, or any ability that adds defense of boosts stats would be shared amongst the Knight and padawan. An example of this would be if the padawan used heal on him or her self then it would automatically heal the Jedi Knight at no force cost for the Knight and vice versa. As well if the Knight was using a macro of force aura then thepadawan would receive the benefits of it but only the Knight would use his or her force pool and vice versa. However such sharing of powers would be limited to stat boosting abilities and heals and the stat boosting abilitieswould not be able to stack.

3.) The benefit for the Padawan would be that he would have a knight there to help and protect him or her. The Knight that feels so inclined to take part in such a relationship would get a bonus for every sucessfulkill in pvp towards his pvp rank thus helping the knight advance forward more quickly in the Force Ranking System. Assuming of course that the new FRS is going to continue to be about pvp of course. Another benefit for the Knight would be that his or her padawan can always help in a pvp fight wether it is against another jedi or another jedi and his or her padawan or against a bounty hunter. The downside would be that if the knight with his padawan was to face off against a single jedi and was to loose the fight then he would incure a penalty as equal to the bonus that he would have recieved from winning. This would help make sure that all fights would be 1 vs 1 (Knight vs Knight) or 2 vs 2 (Knight with padawan vs Knight with padawan) The downside for the padawan would be that he would earn no pvp rank while in the relationship as it would all be going towards his Knight.

-For the bounty hunters when a knight and a padawan are on at the same time and have enough visibility between the two to get their names on the terminals a special and unique type of mission would be generated. This mission would have a wayabove average payout and the goal would be to take out the Knight and his padawan. There would be no missions generated individually for the padawan or the knight. The only missions generated would be the unique pair missions. This would be the only type of mission that a bounty hunter could legally group with 2 or 3 friends to take down the Knight and his padawan. Once the mission is drawn the bounty hunter could share the mission with up to 3 friends only and the group would be considered full. Some type of tef could be added for the duration of the mission allowing the bounty hunter to only have 2 other people in the group. These two group members would not necessarily have to be bounty hunters they could be any profession. The payout which would be extremely high would be shared between the 3 group members upon sucessful completion of the mission. So in essanceifthe bounty hunter thinks his skills are worthy enough to take on a knight and a padawan solo or with just one friend said bounty hunter would recieve a much greater portion of the payout if not all of it (solo).

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.
