Introduction

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my thread. If I would have to guess, I'd say atleast 95% or more Jedi are someway or another unhappy about the current state of the Jedi profession. I read the Jedi forums many times a day, and post every now and then. I've seen my share of great ideas, and absolutely horrible ideas. I decided I'd attempt to condense all the great ideas, and visions I've seen over the forums into one single Jedi revamp. Please read the whole thing before commenting. I am open to all constructive criticism, suggestions, praise, whatever.

Disclaimer

I am in no way taking credit for the ideas I share in this thread. I will try and provide links to the source where I saw the idea first, but I am sure I won't be able to find all of them.

FRS

I could go on and on about the Force Ranking System and discuss every single aspect of my dream FRS, but why would I do that when someone already has. Glzmo's A Vision of a New and Improved Force Ranking System (FRS) is absolutely perfect to me in every aspect. If you haven't read it yet, please do.

Lightsabers: Crystals & Pearls

  • The other qualities of crystals and pearls that are currently unavaliable (Quality, Premium, Flawless, etc.) should be able to be a reward from quests. This will get rid of farming for the pearls.

  • The quests should be abundant enough, and repeatable once a month so Jedi will have ample amounts of crystals and pearls.

  • The quests should be assigned from the NPCs on Mustafar, and NPCs in the enclaves. This allows Jedi to get the lightsaber components they need without having to buy the expansion.

  • The difficulty of the quest should correspond with the quality of the crystal or pearl if one is given. A quest that gives a flawless crystal or pearl should be extremely difficult, while a quest that gives a good should be simple.

  • The content of the quests should involve difficult solo combat instanced combat, so you will be on your own, and no one may help. They should also involve ever changing puzzles, and morals of a jedi. They should take time, but be exciting all through the quest.

  • Occasional high level force npcs should also drop crystals and pearls (It makes sense they would drop pearls too, because they would be using them aswell as crystals) but these should be rare and take atleast 6 people to defeat it, but with a 1:1 drop ratio.

  • There should be no difference in caps between Pearls or Crystals.

  • Minimum and Max tunes need to be assigned to each quality type, so that with less crystals and pearls avaliable to Jedi, we will atleast be able to get something of use for the higher quality drops.

    • Poor:
      Max Stats: 40/40 -4FC

    • Fair:
      Min Stats: 30/30 -4FC
      Max Stats: 60/60 -5FC

    • Goods:
      Min Stats: 50/50 -5FC
      Max Stats: 80/80 -7FC

    • Qualities:
      Min Stats: 70/70 -6FC
      Max Stats: 100/100 -8FC

    • Premiums:
      Min Stats: 90/90 -8FC
      Max Stats: 120/120 -9(.0)FC

    • Flawless:
      Min Stats: 110/110 -9(.0)FC
      Max Stats: 120/120 -9(.9) FC

A few things to note about these changes:

    • When we get to the -9FC, the parenthesis represent the hidden decimal. Only flawless should be able to get above 9.0.

    • Speed was excluded because I know nothing about the speed. I never pay attention to it.

    • Up to goods should be able to be easily looted, like now, with Krayts dropping them.

    • Qualities should be a farily common jedi quest reward.

    • Premiums should be rather rare, with only a small handfull of quests giving them.

    • Flawless should only be a reward from one or two quests.

    • The idea behind this is from: Pearls/Crystals Tuning Rates by x_Damion_x .

  • A wider variety of 'special color crystals' should be introduced, and be included in the quests.

Jedi Items & Loot

  • A wide variety of Jedi enhancing items should be brought in.

  • These could include:

    • Power Crystals And Pearls

    • Special Color Crystals

    • Force Regen/Max Clothing & Jewlery

    • Profession Specific Clothing & Jewlery (Similar to tapes)

    • Holocrons

    • Temporary Force Enhancments - Similar to the stims that increase accuracy, speed, etc. for short periods of time. One time use.

  • The reason I included the above list, and items already avaliable and dropped is because all of the above should also be rewards from the quests recieved from the enclaves and Mustafar.

Jedi Overall Ability

  • Jedi should be brought to it's former Pre-CU glory.

  • With Jedi removed from the GCW as written in Glzmo's FRS, Regular professions no longer have to worry about Jedi dominating the battle field, and so Jedi can be brought to higher abilities.

Jedi vs. Bounty Hunters

  • The problem with Jedi being more powerful is bounty hunters will not stand a chance. Instead of Bounty Hunters running up and fighting a Jedi, sneak tatics should be the only way to defeat a Jedi.

  • A successful bomb droid hit should 9 times out of 10 leave the Jedi right on the verge of incap (400/3000 healthish), and the bounty hunter would not be able to use any abilities until 3 seconds later. This gives the Jedi a chance to heal and respond, but still gives the bounty hunter a helluva advantage and suprise.

  • Bounty hunter's skills should be designed more around avoiding a straight out fight, and more around being sneaky.

  • The 'sneaky' skills oriented for killing Jedi should only be able to be used on Jedi. This will keep bounty hunters balanced against Jedi, and other regular professions.

  • Jedi xp loss upon a bh death should be removed. This will only have positive effects:

    • Jedi will be more willing to stick around and fight.

    • The XP loss only frusterates players, and does not slow down the increase in the jedi population

    • The rivalry between Jedi and bounty hunters will be no more, and we will all be able to get along once more.

  • Upon a Jedi's death, the bounty hunter should be able to loot a replica of the Jedi's lightsaber which is the same hilt as the Jedi used at the time, and when examined have the information of the fight (mark, bh, date, and time). This will make bounty hunters happy.

  • Jedi Professions

    Force Healer

    • Force and mind cost on heals should be lowered, and should get lower as you progress through Healer.

    • Wound healing of x4xx should be moved into 4xxx, and Force extinguish should be moved into xxx4.

    • The new x4xx branch should be devoted to group heals. These should include area heals, cures, and 'buffs' for lack of a better word. By buffs I do not mean the same as doctor buffs. I mean things like an area force infusion

    • The xx4x branch should get more love with tricks such as Combat medics and doctors get.

    • The master box should contain the Heal All skill which should cost a fraction of the force it does now.

    • Also in the master box should be a resurrection skill. It does not make sense that regular non force healing professions should be able to do this, while one with the force cannot.

    • Healing in general for all professions, Jedi or not should get less aggro.

    • I'm really open to suggestions for Force Healer. I don't have much experience with it, and maybe some M. Healers can provide more input.

    Force Powers

    • Overall damage increase, and range increase.

    • Force Push (Push opponent back 30m)

    • More powers enhancing loot

    • Open to suggestions

    Force Enhancer

    • Regular Force Run should be, just that and have no damage reduction.

    • Improved Force Run, and Advanced Force Run should become regular Force Sprint and Improved Force Sprint with damage reduction so Jedi are not punished for training farther into Enhancer.

    • Force Armor protection increased

    • Force Armor cancels out all innate armor except the 20 from initiate (Or increase force armor even more, and cancel out all innate armor)

    • Advanced Force Armor in Master Enhancer with slight resists to armor break, and decrease in cost of force.

    • Force Meditate replaced with Force Preservation Stance, which increases force regeneration by half, and can be used during combat for 5 minutes every 10 minutes.

    Lightsaber

    Force Defender

    • An Area Dominate Mind that only will work on mobs already aggroing group members

    • Dominate Mind skills get more aggro

    • Cooldown timer on Dominate Mind.

    • Any help?

    Controling the Jedi Population

I am sorry, but I have no ideas for this. Please post something if you think of it, and if many others in the thread, or I agree I'll put it up here.

    Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed my collections of thoughts on Jedi. Please post your opinions, thoughts, flames, and whatever else you'd like.

"the 'concern' of too many jedi

julio torres of lucas arts said they considered the problem of continuity with having too many jedi. they resolved that players want to play jedi and in this case they choose fun over continuity."

They wouldn't be dead immedietly. After the bomb droid blows you should have 3 seconds until they can continue... I'll edit now... but you understand what I mean? Instead of fighting straight out, they really get the suprise.
