I know this isn't supposed to be done, but Tiggs locked a thread claiming trolling and such, and people have been posting nothing but negative things about jedi... Reason? There is nothing positive about being a jedi now except to say that you are a jedi.

The jedi are continually being nerfed because people complain that they are too powerful in the GCW and PVP, yet the people playingjedi play in a way that is against what people feel is the way things should be: Jedi in hiding, rarely showing themselves, and so on.

So basically you have 2 opposing factions: Jedi and non-Jedi. You nerf the jedi to make the majority happy, then you have the jedi unhappy. And at this time the Jedi are moving quickly to becoming the majority, and Sony doesn't want this either, so maybe nerfing them into uselessness is a way of culling their numbers. That's not going to make matters better, it's just going to cost you customers in the long run.

The biggest problem that Sony has with a lot of their games is that they are stuck in this grinding to get anything mentality. The jedi profession needs to be revamped again, not nerfed into uselessness. And revamped ina way that instead of requiring months and months of grinding would take months and months of questing. Use gated quests like a few of the village quests are, if you're not wanting people jedi right away and make the quests challenging and solo only so that a person can't just walk through them, and instead of unlocking the whole jedi profession, just unlock certain parts like you did with the village quests.

There were many things that have been rushed through in this game because of deadlines. GET RID OF THE DEADLINES. Period. Don't rush through it, get it done right the first time so you don't have this mad rash of hotfixes because of something you didn't forsee because you didn't allow for proper testing. Make the test center just that... Not another community server, but a server designed to test what you are working on. Put frogs on there so people can build what's needed to be tested or set up a character transfer service that will allow people to transfer their characters to the test center only, and disable PVPing in cities around the frogs unless that's what you are wanting to test.

Questing vs Grinding: There are some people who like questing, and others who enjoy grinding. You can set it up so that you can either grind through or perhaps quest for a box or 2 per profession, or maybe even a box in each tree. And for the master box, maybe you could make a quest where you search out the "master" of that profession in the galaxy and he sends you on a series of quests to become a master yourself. You can either chose to become master after grinding the xp or you can chose to run the quest and obtain a master level weapon as well as becoming a master of that profession. This would give people more content, a choice between grinding and questing, and for jedi, you could make a trainer for each branch of the force. In order to unlock a branch, you would have to quest for that NPC and would recieve the first box in the tree free. Perhaps put the masters of the various schools (lightsabers, healing, enhancements powers, etc) inside the enclaves, or perhaps outside the enclaves, or better yet, when you unlock jedi you are given a series of quests to locate your trainer, and when you have unlocked all 4 trees in that profession and filled them up, then you would be given a quest to locate the master of that profession.

Jedi, PVP, BH's, the FRS, and the GCW: Introduce the master/padawan relationship. I made a reply to a thread here in the past about this, and would like to see this introduced as would several others. When a Jedi reaches knight status, they would gain the ability to take on a pupil that they would be able to train once that pupil unlocks his tree(s). They would also take on a symbiotic role with each other in combat. While grouped together, each would gain a bonus to their defense and offense skills. If a BH comes for either one of them, the BH could gain a bonus payout if he were to take out both master and apprentice, but both would be able to attack the BH. You would need to jack the power of jedi back up, and make it so that they are once again able to take on 3 or 4 BHs at once as is the way it should be. Jedi are the strongest force in this galaxy and should be set up as such. Make it so that if a BH wants to take out jedi, he HAS to bring friends, but those friends all have to be bounty hunters. a MBH/MCM, MBH/Melee, MBH/Ranged, etc, but no more than 8 and they HAVE to be grouped together, and once combat is initiated, another group cannot come along and wipe out that team.

If the group of BH's wins, then they each earn a cut of prize, would require increasing the payout for jedi, if the BH loses then they would themselves be placed on the terminals. If the Master/Apprentice wins they would recieve a bonus to their defenses for 24 hours, as the Force is stronger with them for a duration. If they lose, then not only do they lose the XP, but they suffer a penalty to their defenses for 24 hours, as the Force isn't as strong with them as they thought it should be.

GCW/FRS: For a jedi to enter the GCW, there would have to be a jedi on the opposing side, also before a Jedi can enter the GCW, he would have to have reached Knight status, if he hasn't reached Knight status, then he would have to use non-jedi skills for his group: healing, normal weapons, etc. as he is not strong enough in the Force to warrant him showing himself to the opposing side. Maybe allow Jedi more skill points to allocate to a regular profession since you are limiting the use of Force skills to when a lightsaber is equipped only anyway, and once he has declared himself Special Forces, he cannot equip his lightsaber nor use his jedi abilities. Once the jedi attains Knight status, he would lose those extra skill points and would then only be able to use his jedi abilities. His first opponent would have to be the opposing knight, and upon killing the knight, he would then be able to move on and kill the others. At the end of the battle he would recieve FRS points for the knight and Faction for the others. If he loses then he would lose those points.

To force jedi into hiding give visibility for an NPC seeing ANYTHING jedi-ish. Robes, lightsabers, force powers, anything of that sort. If a jedi earns enough visibility, flag him for a duo group BH whooping. Personally the only time I wore my robes was on a guild hunt, or when out GRINDING, unless I forgot to change back into my mundane clothing.

I know that the first response from the Dev team would be:That would require too much coding... Well guess what... You need to learn to do it. You're pretty much at the point where you have no choice. You've run out of things that are going to cause an influx of people coming into the game except for maybe that special release edition of the entire 6 DVD package release, but it's still getting close. People are going to start leaving and throwing out expansions every 6 months might bring a few people in, but you should worry more about the customers you already do have. Buy the rights for certain ideas from your competition, borrow more ideas from EQ2 and WoW, do whatever you need to do, but stop nerfing and band-aiding the game and FIX it. You keep saying you're trying, but personally I've seen very little in the way of fixing and you continually do things that you PROMISE you won't do anymore. If I could pull my accounts from my station access I would. I tried. They said just stop playing the game. I really hope that you guys decide to try working on something different, because I've seen games out there with bits and pieces of the above in them and could probably be implemented if you'd just try to learn something new. Get away from the old stuff, start on something new. I'd like to come back in about 6 months and see some really exciting new things happening instead of seeing my jedi getting beaten up by baby vir vur.
