If you know how to use it effectively, yes. I have faced several opponents who were challenging to defeat with these. You may want to get 4x4x in Defender rather than just aura if you have the SP to spare.

The x4xx enhancer and 4040 defender is getting very ever popular that it's probably becoming the FOTM on Tarquinas and probably several other servers, +42 innate armor plus another +40 from force armor and then that +500 defense is going to make you pretty tough.
