Thread: There should be 5 different Jedi boards/jedi correspondent
Jedi should not just be concidered 1 big group. There should be 5 forums (maybe 6 for one "Generalized" and 5 correspondents. That way every issue doesn't get sifted into the "ok jedi get one fix for this month and one fix for next month" type dilly. Maybe that's not how it goes, but that's certainly how it feels.
There should be a correspondent for each of the jedi professions.
-Healer
-Defender
-Lightsaber
-Enhancer
-Powers
That way each one gets the indivudual care/concerns it needs, rather than just a once over. I realize Baciacca has a jedi of every type (or so he says), but this is more than 1 persons deal, especially since it's the ONLY endgame in this game and it will become a bigger concern over time, since that's just about everyones goal.
In my eyes, the only way we're truly going to get the attention each skill in jedi needs, is if they are all addressed as seperate professions, rather than being generalized as "jedi". Maybe it will take the heat off the general hate that all jedi get when 1 type of jedi abuses a skill (IE: Cloak/stasis).
I know healer and powers need a lot of attention and have for a long time. It's about the only way they'll get attention the way this is going.
At least that way we can have more than 1 person who can get the devs attention when something goes wrong/issues come up. Strength in numbers?
Maybe my idea is stupid, but I know I hate when defender/lightsaber issues get thrown to the aside because enhancer/powers need a tweek.
I think it would give the devs more of an insight on the fact there's more than "Jedi" generalized. It would help define us all more.
Anyone agree? disagree?

There should be a correspondent for Species too and boards.

And get more focus on the areas that need it. 5 people prodding directly at the devs for thousands has more effect than 1 and thousands of voices they ignore anyway.

I think you underestimate the devs' capacity for ignoring you.

are you only one jedi type? are you only a master enhancer and nothing else? hows that master powers master nothingelse template going to stand?
of the 5 professions a full template is at LEAST 3. most are 4 and several are all 5.
so yes..we are lumped together, fixes are done based on what needs to be done.
think how much info would slip through the cracks haveing to go through 5 differnt places to get it. think how much confusion there would be among coresspondants. you should want to know about every tree in the profession, whether you have it or not. if you think fixes come slow for 1 corespondant, imagine 5 each barking at once.
its a symbiotic relationship, what effects one affects the others, you must know that.
remember, saber/defender/enhancer/healer/powers arent professions..those are skills. jedi is the profession and its a culmination of those skills.
the problem is even minor fixes take a long time. we are one profession among 36 others. and all of them need some time. perhaps the lack of attention has been because the rangers are getting some attention after 2 years, while they have also been working on this new expansion for the past few months...remeber JTL and wookies...remember how much attention they have to divert to those? once that is all squared away rest assured teh train will come back around.
we must learn patience

I suppose when I was a TKM, Msword I had to choose which forum I went to? I looked at both, AND the doc forums. This idea would make jedi like other professions in this respect, which seems to be the theme around here anyways.
But thats just my opinion and what do I know?!
