Thread: a jedi's thoughts on being hunted by same by right after he kills me..

--(i made this post on the BH forums but i really think alot of the jedi here need to read it and quite honestly i KNOW that i am right so flame me all you like but i ask that you keep an open mind.. i wont respond to anything i consider to be irrelevant babble by someone who dosent really know whats going on and only wants fast results and wants them NOW... i expect that most of the people who read this and understand what i am getting at wont respond because they know they dont need to that the point has been made .. but really i am intrested to see how many of the jedi in this game actually understand the situation and how many of them just really are upset because they arnt seeing the results they THINK the should see... go with the flow and read it ..)--

jedi.. the risk you take by being a jedi is that another player will come along and impede your progress.. via getting a mission to kill u then fulfilling it...
can u avoid this? yes u COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY CAN..

u know what i say to that? well u know what the life of a jedi was never easy.. especially in this time frame that the game is in... it is a GAME MECHANIC that if you do your stuff infront of other people that you get visiability and thus get put on the terms... if someone sees you on the terms you are FAIR GAME TO WHOEVER PICKS THAT MISSION UP.. that is how the mechanics of the BH/Jedi relationships work.. if the devs intended it to work otherwise they would make it so a mission for the same mark simply WOULD NOT SHOW UP for the BH after killing the jedi untill X amount of time has passed..
does that happen? nope... i see the same 225k mark twice in a row well u know what i am going to take that mark.. u run the risk of visiability you run the risk of getting pwnt by the same BH multiple times... this is how the game mechanics currently work.. to report someone for harassment for using a game mechanic in its intended form is like reporting a crafter because he makes the same swoop 2 times in a row.
UNTILL THE DEVS LAY DOWN AN OFFICAL RULE BOOK FOR BHs REGARDING HOW TO HUNT JEDI YOU ARE FAIR GAME...
i have never seen ONCE a developer or a CSR rep come on these boards and say "look if you hunt the same jedi twice in too short a time span u will get suspended for harrassment" now i could be wrong but i read these boards quite often and i have never seen anything like that...
untill the developers do that or change the way the system works you must deal with the consequences of your actions..
YOU ARE A JEDI YOUR LIFE IS HARD YOU ARE HUNTED AND NOT WANTED IN THE GALAXY... friggin deal with it or dont play...

i do agree that many of the jedi abilities and traits are broken as of this time.. and need to be adjusted to really make this system fair.. thats not my point i have never once in this post said that the system was perfect and that it works smoothly... i really dont think its RIGHT that i can take down ANY jedi to begin with alone.. even a padawan should pose a SERIOUS threat to me.. thats my personal thoughts.... i have a jedi myself who is over the knight rank and quite frankly i know both sides of the story but i dont complain...
you can avoid being on the terms... it makes you level alot slower... and the grind alot harder but in turn you WILL GAIN MORE EXP IN THE END BECAUSE THERE IS NOT A BH COMING AFTER YOU EVERY HALF HOUR... and you wont have to deal with the same BH running up on you and putting you in the negatives... this is how i leveled my jedi... he recently got knight level so dont say "WELL US POST CU JEDI ARE SCREWED" i know how the post cu leveling works i did it and really its totally possible to solo as a jedi.. u just need to be SMART about it...
anyone who says its lame that the BH kills the same person twice in too short a time period is most likely correct i personally avoid it if i can because i know the struggles of the jedi right now.. but it is HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS.... its not harassment in any shape or form or way UNTILL A DEVELOPER OR CSR COMES OUT RIGHT AND SAYS LOOK IF YOU DO THIS WE ARE GOING TO SUSPEND YOU.. and if that ever is the case they need to just fix the system to make it so the same mark wont show up untill X amount of time has passed but they dont so untill such time as things change we can assume that this system is working as it should because right now there is not quite enough evidence to point either way really.. so assume the worst so when the BEST happens you will be that much happier...
solo grind and get small but actual POSITIVE exp results or group and get visiability but you better be sure you can fend off the hordes of BHs that you are inviting down upon yourself. jedi wasnt meant to be a quick grind class... it was hard to get jedi.... it is hard to level jedi... it WILL take you a LONG time to do it.. and you WILL have people hunting you and wanting to turn you into those terms at every possible minute....
YOU ARE A JEDI IN A TIME PERIOD WHEN JEDI ARE NOT WELCOMED IN THE GALAXY... you need to be a GHOST the sooner people accept these facts the sooner they will actually start leveling there jedi and the sooner the BH problem will become less outstanding then it is...
basically what i am saying is either you learn how to make the system work for you or get destroyed by it but the system changes do not come quickly the sooner u accept the reality of the situation the sooner you can profit from it instead of suffering each and every time you log on..

and his joke was probably accurate maybe i did makethe post to see how many of my fellow jedi out there get way to upset over the simple mechanics of the game maybe not... just curiosity i guess..
but what i really think is that people know that i am right and dont like to actually say.. hey u know what i think you probably nailed the obvious again!.. lol at least that would acknowledge the argument and now simply try to turn the subject away ?

"Harrassment
Harrassment is defined as specifically targeting another player or group of players to harm or inconvenience them. Harassment can take many forms and often what is seen as harassment by one person or group is perfectly acceptable game play. An example of this in Star Wars is the way Bounty Hunter players hunt Jedi players (of course there may be cases where a Bounty Hunter player may specifically target a single Jedi player, this would be considered harassment and is not allowed. Bounty Hunter players should not specifically target the same Jedi over and over). Additionally, if someone calls you a bad name or offends you in any way, please first attempt to resolve the issue by using the built in features (/addignore, /filter) between the parties involved. The ignore and language filter features provided in-game will help you to control and avoid most harassment. Should you be unable to resolve the issue, please submit an in-game harassment ticket as a last course of action and the in-game staff will assist.
Remember, if you feel you are the target of harassment, please make sure that you do a /report <offending player name>. This will send us the relevent chat data and log it to our servers for secure review. "

The TOS states that "intentionally" targeting a player jedi over and over is harrassment. Which I would agree with totally. If he were specifically going through missions till he found "Jedi Joe" and kept doing that.
But, I think he's meaning not even looking at the name. Just seeing the mission worth 225k and taking it without even looking at the details to see the name. I wouldn't think that would happen very often though.

OK, that's the part that actually bugs me. Go read my topic on low-level Padawans. It should still be on the first page. Now go read SonGouki's "Top 10 Jedi CU issues" topic stickied at the top of the forum. THIS IS WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO FIX! JEDI CANNOT SOLO GRIND! Not "It's really slow", not "It's really hard," but "It's a physical impossibility!" That's right! Go solo, get NO XP! Zero! Zip! Zilch! Believe me, I've tried. No matter what I attack, what attacks I use, I cannot kill anything solo that gives me XP.
Now personally I refuse to become the joyride and paycheck of some 12-year-old respec BH who gets his kicks out of destroying other people's work. As a consequence I am completely unable to level and have cancelled my account as a result. The Jedi who place their advancement above their pride are FORCED to work in groups to gain any XP AT ALL! We have no choice but to get stuck on those accursed terminals and what a lot of Jedi are asking for is a little civility on the part of the BH!
If it was pre-CU I'd agree. It's the Jedi's own damn fault for getting on the terms. But now it's post CU and the Jedi aren't up there by choice or by blatent screw-up. They're there by neccessity. And yes, the game allows for these things to happen. But then again, the game allowed for your profession to be nerfed through the floor for over a year before the CU. I've been a BH, I know how things were. Face it, the DEVs aren't fast and they certainly aren't infallible. This is just one of those failings. So before you start saying that Jedi need to stop complaining, why don't you take a look at why we're complaining and maybe you'll see the logic.

maybe instead of reading the forums looking for a "Rule Book", how about you try looking in the game. The default keys of "CTRL" + "H" opens up a HOLOCRON. At the bottom left is a button labeled "Report a Harassment". Click on that button and read what the DEVs and SOE do say about this subject.

That is a small quote take from there, please read the entire thing. Yes, BH'ers hunt Jedi, this acceptable game play. To hunt the same Jedi over and over is not. So hunting the same Jedi twice in too short of a time span could be considered harassment.
