Thread: Master BH + Master Ranger + CM4000?
There is a lot of talk about how Cloak will be nerfed. I'm concerned about that. But I'm also interested in knowing how deadly Ranger will be when paired with MBH. I'm also interested in seeing if the cloak detection skills will be in the Master Ranger skill box, or if it would be possible for a MBH to dabble in both CM 4xxx and enough Ranger detection skill boxes to ruin a cloaker's day.
Doing the math (assuming the MBH has no skill points invested in Force Sensitive), it is possible to be MBH plus CM4000 and Ranger 4300.
Since the emphasis of Ranger will no longer be around resource harvesting and creature tracking, what are the chances it won't require Master Scout anymore, thus freeing up more skill points?
Opinions?

Actually, they are removing the Master Scout requirement so 4000 CM should still be very possible.
Thanks for the correction!
I guees that would be a great template if you dont mind hitting once every 3 seconds with your basic attack.
Are they adding general ranged speed mods to the ranger profession in this "upgrade"
I think as it is now anMBH gets less then 100 melee d and 30 or 40 general ranged speed mod.
Well If I read some of the ranger changes correctly then a BH/ranger with some healing is gonna be one hum dinger of a template. First all its going to take is some expierimentation with mechanics to see if they can lay down traps camoed or lay the trap and then camo it. I can see setting up a snare field , pop the jedi and dare him to come at me, after he passes thru the first field or maybe just one or two bouncing betty's, then I kite him thru another as I trigger the mines behind me, yup with some practice this will be hell.
also, when you read down the Ranger list you see this:
Pursuit & Countermeasures
This line contains skills and schematics that aid the Ranger in ferreting out other Rangers as well as detecting and disarming anti-personnel devices. Detecting concealed persons/objects is determined by checking the conceal skill vs. the detect skill + a slight random factor to ensure that no conceal/detect is 100% certain.
The ability to detect concealed persons, doesn't mater if you cloak or not, if he can see you he can shoot you, so you may get the cloak off and his detect see's thru the cloak now you have no choice but to fight, and that means going thru a mine field. I can see rangers being the ambushers extroidenare, along with basic BH's skills, life just got a whole lot nastier.
I can see BH's hireing rangers as their new best buds, Hey man scout my mark and lay some triggers down for him, I'll snipe from cover and make him come to us, you master defenders may not like the sting of mines. This is why PvP never works, what looks good on paper, gets implemented and the population runs with it and a whole nother group of folks take it in the shorts. Then again the pendelum will swing the other way. Who knows, but if you take the ranger skills and do some logistics then paint a bullseye on your arse.
