I was running this idea through my head the other day.

Have the ranks within the Jedi gained by doing missions. There could be missions of varied difficulty from easy-medium-hard-epic. Each difficulty would be worth more points and each rank within the FRS would have a required amount of points whihc would increment higher between each level, for instance rank one may be 100 points to get to the next rank may be 150.

Successfully completing a mission would gain you points however failing a mission would result in a point reduction, only a percentage though not full mission points.

Easy missions may be only one step missions like deliver an item or scout an area etc. As the missions progress in difficulty they could then be multi-step missions with the epic mission perhaps having a 7 - 10 step path to completion.

A jedi could request a mission by typing in something like /requestjedimission and then be given a dialog box to choose a type etc.

I would think that gaining Jedi rank being task based would make sense and match how the Jedi's function. The more things a Jedi does to further their side (dark vs. light) would lead them farther down the path.
