Thread: Master Powers + Master Lightsaber

At the moment I am MLS/enh4402/def0340/heal4000.
However master powers MLS looks like a fun template to me (assuming you don't get killed too easily), though I am wondering what other skills could be incorporated to make this template a little more viable.

My thoughts were:
4400 enhancer, you have some defence and the ability to high tail it out of there when you need to.
4004 enhancer, you can run away and regen under cloak fairly quickly.
4000 enhancer 1000 healer, you can run and heal.
4000 healer + some enhancer.
4040 healer.
3000 enhancer 2000 healer.

any thoughts? or is there anyone with this template who knows how it works and what I could have with it.

any of your proposed suggestions kinda scare me tbh. I cannot imagine not having some form of force regen, i.e. channel, meditate. You get hit with a snare, you aren't going far and definately not cloaking if hit with some type of DOT like poison or deuterium from a CM

If you are going for MLS/MP you will see your force run low pretty fast, so I would recommend you to have atleast Channel Force to regain force (enhancer 0002). Then I would recommend you would take healing for the remaining skillpoints.


Template would be this with my recommendations:
Master Lightsaber / Master Powers / Enhancer 0002 / Healer 3000


The downpart is you only have Innate Armor to rely on.

Mpowers // MLS // DEF 0040 // HEAL 1000


That is your ONLY viable temp. And with 500hp heals, u better know your crap, cause your a DEAD MAN.
Honestly, there is no need for this temp, and here is why:


- MLS is offensive
- Mpowers is offensive


...you can't do Both profession attacks at once, hence there is no need to have BOTH. If anything u are better off with MPowers and dable in LS Armor Break or Tech Tree for Blocking rather than mastering both.


And furthermore, if you ARE going to use this temp i HIGHLY advise u use the temp i said above because if you dont use DEF 0040 and go ENH 3000 HL 2000 you will have NO defense...and die as fast as it takes someone to KD and snipershot u. Seriously....


If you really like BOTH MLS and Mpowers i think you're better off with:


Mpowers // LS 0402 // ENH 3402 // HL 4000

For a "funny" M Pow temp, M LS is not needed at all (yes M LS is also fun too).


Powers cost really amazing Force, so channel is a must with it. x4x4 Ls is much enough, I think. You already have many specials with M Pow, all you do from LS is; Power attack, head hit, throw and of course armor break.. Power brings the other attacks "funs".


Also you can say you want MLS/MPOW for sure.. With that type of template you can't have enough healing or defense (FA etc..), you can still say you don't care dying etc.. Then you will die with 1 RM shot, and where would be the fun?

Ignore the naysayers, MLS/MPW/4040 healer. If you're gona go for it, go all the way. Maybe take 4000 healer, 1000 enhancer for the force speed. But always have 4xxx healer. You'll need the 1500 heals. Synth Steak is your best friend, use it wisely and you can hang with the best of them.

mls/mp is a off > def temp your dmg output is insane. the better your saber is the better off u will be, look at it like this if they r healing then how can they hit u. If u r a pvper and want a challenge this is a great template.

Also get tier 4 healing u will need it the rest is up to u. u don't need channel.

I'm MLS, MP, 3000 heal, 0020 def. The 0020 def gives me 350 ish ranged/melee defenses with aura, and 30 innate jedi armor (MDEF is 70).


I've had this template since early summer and it works pretty well. Force regen isn't a problem unless you do solo PvE. My main beef is with powers not quite delivering as it should.

MLS/MPowers are a ton of fun.


I would suggest that if you are set on MLS/MPowers, you grind those trees out then you can play around with the rest of your skill points. It only takes a few days to grind out a full tree, so you can try one and see what works for you and what doesn't, then grind up to what you think would fit your play style.


I commend you on the smartest decision you'll ever make.... to pick a template you like and have fun with so you can leave the drama and crying involved with picking a FOTM.

Playing a MLS/MPowers myself both on the Trials Beta server and in live, I can tell you that you absolutely must have 4000 healer to stay alive for more than a few seconds. The only viable template I was able to come up with is 4040 Healer and hope that you can kill your target faster than they can heal.


You also must have a steady supply of PSGs for the few remaining BH's that use energy weapons, and a large stock of block/dodge/melee defense/damage mitigation foods/drinks.


4400 Enhancer means no healing at all, except for stims. Ditto with 4004 Enhancer.


4000 Enhancer 1000 Healer, you'll only be healing for 500 damage per heal.


4000 Healer + some enhancer would be 4000 healer and 1xxx Enhancer probably... would force speed 1, so you could stand back andzap them a bit faster. Would be nice against BH's, but not all that effective against other Jedi as they would simply turn force shield and force feedback on, or back on after you breach them.


3000 Enhancer 2000 Healer, you'd heal for 1000 per heal, which I found on the Beta server was not enough.


Another one you didn't list is 3000 Healer 0002 Enhancer, but it has the same problem as 3000 Enhancer 2000 Healer.


MLS/MPowers is the so-called "Glass Cannon" template, and it is called this for the reason that a damage capped featherweight fwg5 will hit you for... probably twice the damage it will hit someone who has improved force armour, 75% more than someone with improved aura, and2.5 times more than someone who has both.


(Side note: My improved lightning hits for approximately the same damage as my sabre power attack ona non-Jedi target... about 1100 in pve / 650 in pvp. before armour break. Choke ticks for about 415 in pvp on a non-Jedi target... about 200 (or less) on a Jedi with his/her defenses up.)

For My Opinion I'll say this:


If you wanna have a lot of fun....go Master Powers


If you wanna have some offense with Master Powers...just add some lightsaber to it...like 0404 or 0402 like I have.


If you get both, you will find that your toolbar can't hold all the moves and you will always be torn between which move to use first.


I myself...MP w/ 0402 Saber love it. I mainly stand back in a ranged position, but if someone gets close, I can armor break and knock em down with my saber....root/snare them and continue back to my 32m ranged profession of MP.


Lastly, MP is a force hog. Without some enhancer like the guys above said, you will find yourself with a lot of down time. Channel is a must....meditate helps....I myself have 3/4/0/4 Enhancer. Gives me all the roots/snares...gives me force armor2...gives me channel, drain and meditate.


If you are not going any Defenderand/or Force armor2....you had better stay in your house, because you will get hit very, very hard. That's why this template is labeled as the "Glass Cannon". However, in reality, its not even that great of a cannon unles you have some Uber pearls/crystals stashed away.


Also...healing is a must. You will get rooted a lot and forced to take damage. The NPC's, even some of the creatures on Mustafar are hitting you with snare effects. If you can't stay alive long enough to get yourself away and cloaked, then you are dead.


My template is:

MP

0402 Saber

3404 Enhancer

4000 Healer


If I had to change from this it would be 1 of 2 things:


1. If Powers could stand on its own offensivly, I would drop Saber and get Master Enhancer.


2. If Force Armor 2 continues to run me out of force as a Powers user...I would love to have 0040 from defender for the force aura....because not getting hit or getting hit for less...is just as good if not better than armor mitigation at the cost of force.

Hi,


My template is MLS, Master Powers, enhancer 3002, novice healer and I do very well. Initially I was enhancer 0002, healer 3000 and reground ro my current template - the problem with this is that you need force speed 2 to keep up the pure offensive power of this template. Without it you are not effective at all. I was worried about dropping my infusion and 1,000 heals but I thought about it and decided to go for 500 heals plus 1,200 stims and ruby. I am healing now for 1,200 with no 6 second delay and no mind drain when a BH comes after me and puts electrolyte on - infusion kills you when you get hit with this. My food and drink layout means I can take spiced tea, blob, bofa, booster blue, pikatta pie, 2 synthsteak and 7 ruby bliels - giving me the ability to use 7 stims one after the other + jedi heals. My favourite tactic is to move right into the middle of a massive group of overt Rebs and break cloak using area KD followed by area intimidate - I then force run out of there spamming stims + jedi heals + ruby, allowing me team to attack them all - when I get out of range I can assist by chaining choke, area lightning, force throw, single lightning and saber throw. Adding Force breach on specific Jedi targets that you can see are being attacked by your friends does wonders - a Master defender went down so fast without his jedi mods on that he was unable to get ai on It is great when you launch an area lightning and get 3 incap messages come up on screen, one after the other! The fact that you are dangerous is shown by how much you are targeted with force drain by the opposing team.


In PvP, I am not sogood one on one against other Jedi templates - having said that, I have lasted for 3 minutes against a master defender going toe to toe (before the snare changes). With the root and snare changes, you might be able to take one down if you are good - I still need a lot of practice though The strength of this template is the fact that you have so many specials on different timers that you can launch.


So it is viable - you just need to know your limitations. It is a heck of a lot of fun as well and is great for PvE - I jave helped a TKM, doc - level 72 partially complete char kill all the Mystinger critters using this template. He was amazed when I told him my template as by rights I should have neen dead ages ago. Also I have tanked for spinner groups - Area KD and areaintim does wonders for keeping the spinner group on their feet and if they all attack - the critters are all dead before they can attack you
