Thread: capital ships was just a video test? HAHAHAHAHA
[17:33] *Anon4881* At this years Fan Fest, a video was shown that strongly hinted at Player Capital Ships. When will more information on these ships be released?
[17:33] The video was a technology test straight from a developer's desk that we decided to share with the Fan Fest attendees. It does not necessarily represent anything we are currently doing with the game.

What the hell? It was just a test? HAHAHA I'm laughing my ass off. That was released months ago and I was looking forward to capital ships but my suscription is canceled and this game is dead as hell. and it doesn't represent anything they have planned? then why show people? just to get people excited over nothing? what the hell. hee hee, anyway i just wanted to say bye to everyone. im not crying or anything just moving on
How much you wanna bet that they are saving capital ships for an expansion right around the time Star Trek Online debuts.
Well you see that word there in red? it is a limiting word. By placing that in the sentence, the Devs basically answered this question with a big fat "maybe we will put capital ships in, maybe we won't". This was not a 'No, we'll never have capital ships" as you seem to believe, it just means that they don't know what they hell they have planned for the future....does that surprise anyone at all?

That video was shown at Fan Fest in June at Anahiem and the devs indicated that capital ships were coming and that we would have PVP fights in space by boarding ships.
More proof that SOE is not hitting income goals and having to back off on development.
Else, they now have to spend money slated for development on fixing broke stuff.
Me thinks I would rather have fixes than capital ships.

I agree but I do know that capital ships will be introduced in an expansion. No worries on that. SOE will do that.

They've never been great with "free" content in this game, and I think that most of the new content we'll be getting in the near future will be content we have to pay for. The 8 man skiff is a prime example. That was supposed to be a free item back in july, and suddenly now it's a part of the expansion we have to pay for to get.
The fact that we''re going to have 2 expansions come out in six months, and the price of this latest expansion tells me they're hurting for cash. Unfortunately, this is only going to turn more people off because of how messed up things already are.
They really need to open up those purse strings some more and do a ton of bug fixes and add several new dungeons.
they said somewhere that capital ships were 'working' and that the only reason they havnt been implemented is because they couldnt find a reason to put them into the game dynamics..
does this mean THEY ARE LYING TO US.... AGAIN ?
