Thread: Sap vs. Electro Drain

beside the fact pub 24 is a deciding factor for many to say ''screw SOE, DnL here i come''....Is Sap even useful post 24 or is it insignifigant to Electro drain and the other CM abilities. To me it looks like Electro Drain is a way to make the fight more like fish in a barrel.

i think you will find most debuffs don't work on npc's. Thyroid and electrolyte drain, but that is because they are speed debuffs.(Never really noticed any need for shock other maybe than to lay a dizzy on an npc. Hemmorhage and traumitize don't affect the action or mind pools of npc's. In pvp tho, it is an entirely different story.

Imp Sap was good till they nerfed it bellow CM states. Sap does not reduce regen as bad as CM and it lasts half as long.

I think you are mistaken. Sap and Electrolyte drain are two different things. Sap, a jedi healer ability, slows down your opponents regen. While electrolyte drain, a combat medic ability, slows down your movement speed.

I recently banged out the xp to get the sap line. I dropped state healing because there didn't seem to be a need for it.
I tried using improved sap exactly once. Took 4 tries to stick a CL79 mob, and it didn'tslow his action regen down enough to slow the specials coming in at me. I haven't tested it in PvP yet. I'll have to duel a guild BH to try it on a player, that's why I picked the line up.
