Thread: Why do people seem to think only Pre-Cu Jedi have good pearls?

I keep reading where people are making the assumption that only Pre CU Jedi or older have the good pearls in their sabers.

Lets not forget that MANY people were farming pearls Pre-CU and having their qualitity determined, thus creating a stockpile for when they unlocked. Based on that, I really dont think we can use the Sabre damage as a way of defining the Age of Jedi.

very few people had enough pearls in stock if any, I had to tune over 60 primium pearls preCU to get a good saber. If you want to get a good a saber now try tuning upwords of 600.

For starters, krayt dragons aren't even spawning on my server. They did for a while, and I used that period to supplement the material I'd stockpiled before unlocking.I wound up (out of some 30 pearls and crystals tuned) withthree pearls and a crystal with a power ranging from +77 to +94, but with heavy force cost; FC modifiers range from -2 to -4. Total force cost onthis saber is 34, and it's damage range is 430 to 544. I also have a grinding saber stocked with pearls and crystals of low power and somewhat-better-than-average force cost: Damage output is about half that of my main saber, and force cost is 20.

All these components were "Good" pearls or crystals. During that time, I also helped several friends and guild mates obtain power crystals and pearls at a time when they didn't have any.

During this time period, a leader in the guild I was in at the time bought a "flawless" pre-CU pearl for somewhere around 20 million credits. It tuned as a +121 or so to damage, with a force cost of -9.

So you make the call: How many pre-CU Jedi would have turned up their noses in disdain at a pearl like my best one: a +94/-0.17 speed/-4 fc pearl?

Hmmm, think i tuned 100-150 prems maby and i stockpiled up about 20 prems in a bag aswell.

But well if you were goin jedi i dont see why ppl werent farmin pearls when they had the chance...its naive to think that the krayt boom would stay for a long time. I know we dident know prems werent gona dropp postCU. But me, i can say i dident think the krayboom was gona last for long either.

But anyway, bad luck ppl...

Oh? I was thinking it was around 150 max. If so, I stand corrected. It's been a while since I heard him report his tuning resultin Teamspeak. Which is why I said it "tuned as a +121 or so."

At any rate, he got himself quite a gem.
