Yes, but on NPC's / mobs only.

If it were able to cut through PC armour, it would very quickly turn into "First person to hit dervish wins." It would also eliminate BH's hunting us altogether, even with stims and doc/cm healing. (Yes, I actually like being hunted.)

changing LS damage type was a very bad mistake to start with. My blue saber should not do cold damage - that is just plain silly.

Other than this is nota single player game. It is an mmorpg. The problem with one all powerful class of character is that it makes the game completely unbalanced, which is why jedi have been nerfed so bad. You cannot be all powerful in an mmo. There has to be some sort of balance to make it fun for everybody, and not just jedi.

LS damage is fine, as long as LS psgs, and the appropriate resistant armors are reimplemented. Once again, stop asking for an "I win" button. The grind does not justify that you should be able to one hit everything. No matter what your thoughts.

And, in essence, that is exactly what jedi have been wanting. To be gods, and invincible. If you want that, play a single player game....

This is why I have been advocating a new system of beyond-Elite-Master options for the regular character classes. Ultimately, the goal has to be a balanced system for all players. The challenge for a multiplayer game based on the Star Wars mythos is how to come up with such a system while still keeping Jedi true to their original form. Right now, the pendulum has swung in the direction of bringing Jedi DOWN to the level of the existing character professions, all of which can be ground out in a week or two. The concept (and the challenge) is very simple: As long as only one profession exists that takes months of work to attain, it is absurd to try to balance it against all the other current professions, all of which can be finished in a few days. One side or the other will always be short-changed.

Yes, it will require a break with Star Wars continuity to create such super-elite professions, but this has to be done, because this is a MULTIPLAYER GAME, not a MOVIE where all the variables are controlled for the sake of a story.

Second thing I wouldrecommend for the sake of this game would be the inclusion of cortosis ore as an armor component. It would probably be a bad idea to limit it's inclusion in designs to Mandalorian, because that would then mean everyone would be struggling to obtain a suit of Mando. Bad idea! I do NOT want to see Mando become the new everyone's-wearing-it armor, like composite was before the CU. Conversely, I don't want to set up a situation where everyone has to have a full suit of Mando to compete with Jedi. Now, if Mando remains a superior option, but is very rare and difficult to obtain, then it might be cool to make it a better option than a regular suit of armor. The thing is, people prove over and over in MMORPGs that if something is clearly superior, it doesn't matter how difficult it is to procure it; they'll get it sooner or later.

That said, the devs have repeatedly asserted that they will NOT make cortosis an armor component in this game. To this, I disagree.

At any rate, I think the devs went in the exact180-degree WRONG directionfor balancing Jedi. Instead of giving the other professions a long and arduous avenue by which they could build themselves up to the Jedi's level, they nerfed Jedi. The result loses the essence of the Star Wars mythos. Love them or hate them, Jedi are the element that sets Star Wars apart from every other science fiction/fantasy mythos. Without them, we might as well be playing a game based on Starship Troopers or something.

Bottom line is, I want to play a game where Jedi feel like Jedi -- not like weak-sister stepchildren.

Hmmmm... yes and no, lightsaber needs to stand out, and the current lowintensity energy attack with a symbolic elemental schwing to it is a poor sight. They need to differentiate different energy weapons by intensity. This will not only benefit the jedi community, but also bring some balance to the different ranged elite professions. Pistols would have the lowest intensity, carbines medium and the T21 would have the highest intensity burst being very hard for armor to resist.

Lightsaber would have the highest intensity of all.

I will say that is only one possible answer to the problem. I suposse you could increase the damage on sabres by about 2.5x and that might be a good start. But something needs to be done. A light sabre should do more damage than any other weapon in the game.
