I am still here playing the game after two years, regardless of how weak Jedi is getting but there is one thing I do not do anymore and that is PvP. I only PvP as a perk once in a while when I am bored, but before the CURB I used to PvP everytime I logged on but now PvP is horrible and stupidly slow. I only play my Jedi to help my guild members or to just play around otherwise my main with swordsman is much better at most things in game. Many old timers has quit over the past few months, my friends list has grown much much smaller, I had originally planned to cancel about a month ago but some friends convinced me to stay a little longer but I do not know how much longer I can hold out.
Man how could you not like Attack, Attack, Attack, KD Recovery, KD, Attack, Heal, Attack, KD, Heal, Attack, Heal, KD Recovery, KD, KD, KD, Heal, Attack, Attack, Heal, Attack, KD, Attack, Attack, Attack?
I hate all the snares and root scat!
Also that move where you can't do jack too, that BH seem to pull and is a pale and jaded version of the Starwars Galaxies I used to imagine!
Another pet hate, you have been root'ed/stasis'ed and 4-5 jedi rush over and wooo, your dead, great fun(NOT)
Pulling out and cutting my losses and ignoring the bone of pearls etc(expansion)

Being a post-CU Jedi myself, I made a point to study the profession I was about to get into. I don't know if other people do this to the same obsessive degree as myself (and I mean really obsessive), but surely you must have understood the weaknesses of the current Jedi implementation to some extent. That being said, I wonder how many just go ahead and grind to "full temp" heedless of the situation they are putting themselves in? Yes, many of the current Jediissues need to be resolved - I agree fully, and will not debate that. However, did you ever for once consider...
...that you don't HAVE to be a "full temp" Jedi to be successful? Are you in such a hurry to wield a flashlight?
There are other answers. For me, it is the hybrid route. Beat them at their own game, I say. I know there are rumours that the hybrids will be nerfed, but neither has that happened or even been confirmed, yet. Until then, I choose not to gimp myself. I am still a Jedi, and if I want to show off my pretty saber, I can do so without investing so much as a single point in the LS trees.
My template is MRM, Defender 4440 and CM4000. I walk around in camo pants, and undershirt and coat (with HE and defense mods, but only I can see these) and a PSG. I am sporting a generic looking ALR. I look like an easy kill, that is for certain.
In reality, I have 5400 innate armor (the PSG puts it at 7400 against energy). Myranged defense is around 315 (melee around 260). I can activate Improved aura for an extra 500 defense. My ALRis actually almost double capped, and I can fire off headshots with decent accuracy and speed. I also have an LD-1 onstandby, waiting to deal kinetic damage to the BH that thinks they are about to go up against a saber wielder - wearing recon armor, in other words. You are in deep trouble if you are wearing Ubese! I can heal just as well and as fast as any other CM4000 out there...better if they dont have any HE clothes mods. If you manage to hit me (you will miss alot), you are only going to deal about 350 damage, and that is only if your weapon has a high minimum and your accuracy is buffed. Your KDs will miss often. Your root does you no good, nor does your snare. You can startle me, but I can startle you too. You aren't going to drain my mind, because I don't need to heal much, and my food/drink/spice strategy is to keep my mind regen maxed. I'm not going to run out of Force anytime sooneither, because I am only using it for Aura...and I can always pop a holo.
Now, I am not saying this is the most uber, I WIN template, because it clearly has weaknesses. It is only to show that there are other options. I look like a complete moron. I look like some newb that just finished the village, and is generally too stupid to wear armor and get buffs (I don't really need the buffs, though the extra speed is nice) and is generally unprepared to fight. The reality is much different. I like to think of it as a wolf-in-sheeps-clothingtemplate. I have tried to build a template specifically to counter the FOTM BH templates, and to catch the hunter unprepared (as ironic as that sounds).
And, I will only lose 136k xp if I die. 1 hour of grinding, or whatever. And until they fix sabers, my grind is done, so I don't care much about the xp.
Anyway, I write this only inhopes that any new Jedi realise that there are other choices out there. There is no point rushing through a grind, only to find out that the profession is somewhat gimped. Find something that works for you, and is fun to play. Then bide your time, waiting for a saber fix, maybe banking up some xp while you are at it.

Very nice... hehe good job. ![]()
I don't worry about BH's. I do my best to avoid visibility, but I don't get obsessive or upset about it either. If they come, they come; if I win, I win; if I lose, well I get to full temp an hour later than I would have otherwise and they've cleared my vis for me. Trading an hour of having fun with my spin group in exchange for clearing my vis counter? Sounds like a gooddeal to me.

MBH: Can Solo Ancient Krayts easily, can solo the named 111 dant npcs/dark adepts/djm/djks/necrosis, nearly anything in the game is soloable thanks to the snares and kds.
I highly doubt that, but if you have a link to a video of someone doing it I may be ready to believe you, until then i'm claiming bull. There may be certain templates that can solo an ancient but I gaurantee you it will not include mbh.
MBH/MRM/CM4xxx
Snareand run around in circles, KD if needed (usually not). Not worth the effort to solo them though, takes too long.
MBH/MR/Pistols xxx4/Medic xx1x
Have soloed dozens of ancients with and without a droid. Root, Bleed (to slow regen), Adv Crit, Adv Head Shot, Snare, KD, etc. Run in circles. BR if you really need to, but you rarely need to.
So I count 2 templates that include MBH there that can apparently solo ancients. And, yes, it takes a while. Care to make any more guarantees?

every template has its positives and its negatives but 1 thing always holds true. Know how to use ur template, use the right foods and use strategy! i have had a ton of mbh mcm attack me and i beat them all or made them run and im not even mls. So before you come here and complain saying ohh they unbeatable i think u need to learn how to pvp and u need to learn your template.
felhammer
I fully agree here.
Myself as a TKM/MSwords/Mbrawler I have beat my fair share of Jedi. Yet I have got owned by a couple. One beat after 5 min with a pre-cu sabre.Another just yesterdaythat I believe was exploiting, killed me, fully fooded up and cranked over 750+ defensein addition to a psg in 4 FRIGGING HITS in like 5 secs. He claimed that He was just good. So i then and there challenged his buddy that was with him in Full Ris w/ power hammer and wentfor 30 min plus before he incapped me. I wear no armor nor have any attatchments. Just a sliceADKed Knucklers. So jedi have their tricks...they are not the gimped profession that the original poster is tying to make them out to be. Know your templete
Lol, skurr, that was me the other day and i'll swear before everyone that i wasn't using any exploit that i know about. Also, it wasn't 4 hits, it took me maybe 30 seconds but i had you armor broken, dizzy, and was alternating between body hits and power hits with a good pre-cu saber. I also don't generally have trouble with bounty hunters of any breed, never had one that i haven't killed.
Im not going to beat this in the ground. It was 4 clean hits. I accepted your duel. I then ABed you for 0 hit points. You hit me for 852. You then hit me for 1023. You then hit me for 1230 and icapped me. Then you hit me for 1200 something.Four hits. No dizzy and no AB from you. Nothing else. I NEVER GOT A HIT IN. Im not some nub to PvP and Coawie is the only other Jedi to totatlly own me and it took him over 3-5 min with an uberpre-cu sabre. My immediate fight with your buddy proved that my defenses were in order. I have never seen a Jedi hit that hard through defenses that toughand incappsomeone that quick. Even in the Imp vs Reb war that happened in Bestine after wardI watched as you were3 hit incapping people in full RIS. Say what you want....it that is fun to you so be it.
If you wernt exploiting you just prove my point that Jedi are far from gimped and/or have thier own tricks.

Read what he said. Post-CU Jedi. No good pearls = gimped Jedi since Powers never has and never will work properly.
Aries1 wrote:I'd agree as a pre-9 jedi, post cu jedi got the shaft.everyone needs to face it jedi is heading for a revamp.Jedi skills were patch togeather at the last min in the cu, we we're even allowed to test them even with the testers.considering how crafting has change you can see that light saber crafting is going to change.I pretty much thing they will make it more dynamic and require more looted item then just pearls/crystals.You'll see looted items that give different bounuses to sabers like block, max,min damage, defense, speed etc...Remember they now in touch and using dev's from KOTOR. The next expansion in fact has a Char from KOTOR in it.So expect more KOTOR like changes and enjoy our premium pre-cu sabers while we can.
/nod, I agree. They're not doing very much at all for the Jedi profession except for changing things that can be exploited ("Eg: Force Cloak"), that tells me a complete revamp will be happening.
