I think you have it backwards. I think you need to reroll on a PvP server. Considering the fact we're already on PvE servers, where PvP is optional outside of the force BH encounter.

With that aside, I have a love/hate relationship with PvP in this game. There is no mechanic in the game that allows there to be a fun, even landscape for PvP, and that is the problem. I don't bother with PvP anymore, as it's the same old, same old, ruled completely by gank squads, and I don't like to be in those squads or against them. They need to bring back battlefields, working of course, where there is an X number of people allowed by both sides. If someone dies in the battlefield, they're booted, the next person in line takes their spot.

Complete chaos in a confined area where the numbers are even. Now that is PvP.

Sorry, I don't think so. Jedi were also told numerous other things, but guess what? Times changed. Who makes up the majority of the player base around here? Non-PvP players, by a landslide. The developers gave everyone an easy opportunityto become Jedi, so as more "carebears" become Jedi, the voice of the majority win. Plain and simple. Did it mean a reduction in Jedi power level? Yep. But that's the way MMO's go, figured you may know that. These games evolve, are constantly changing, and this game in particular actually listens to its player-base fairly well. Unfortunately for you it seems the majority of the player-base may not want forced "duels to the death" (Jedi vs. BH is not a realistic PvP) eventually. This means it will go away.

Me personally, I could care less if they kept BH vs. Jedi in the game or not. They're like flies to me, and all they do is waste my time for five minutes at the most. But I like to see the big picture. And in the grand scheme of things, there is no purpose to this mechanic anymore. It's days of usefulness are gone. Why is it really still here? So much time and effort has gone into a system that only promoted ganking and griefing (until recently), and forcing a very high number people into PvP they do not want. This time should have been better spent on giving Smugglers that super long awaited revamp, or getting Squad Leader and Ranger theirs sooner. But instead time has been wasted on a mechanic that lost its place back in June 2004.

must depend on the server.... chilastra has a lot of GOOD non-jedi pvpers. There is such a HUGE role for non-jedi in pvp if people would only encourage them rather than spouting the usual propoganda about jedi ruining PvP. . .

You know how much i would love to have a doc on the battlefield and not need to depend on my own heals? Rifleman could play a HUGE role if they stay behind the jedi/melee people and fire away...

Pistoleers and carbineer on the outskirts keeping the jedi from flanking / running...

there are sooooo many opportunities for non-jedi to pvp if they would only be encouraged to do so.

Do your part and quit complaining about dead GCW / jedi dominated pvp, rather, encourage people to get involved and teach them how best to fit in. . . the whole "you gotta be jedi to pvp" is an old and tired myth

I'd say it's less about the server and more about the point of view. They want to complain about Jedi, so it's "all Jedi in PvP" and "Jedi killed the GCW." Go back on the GCW forums before the first Jedi unlocked and you can find many other examples of "(something I don't like) is killing the GCW!" Or the game for that matter... It's funny reading all the posts about what "is killing the game" that people are now waxing nostalgic over.
