keep in mind, it can never be 2 months...you have gated FS unlocks, the fs grind, and then the jedi grind...it is closer to 6 months than 2, starting from scratch, and to be fair...most regulartemplates will take 3 days to a week for a committed grinder, depending of course on their luck with finding good groups.

Bout a month ago I got my butt totally pwn'd bya swordsman. Lasted like 1 min. Guy was a real crap talker to boot. So i picked myself up dusted off and left to the sounds of this ridiculing moron echo in my ears. When I got where i was going i sat down and tried to think what was the flaw in my strategy. I was MLS/enhancer 4004/def 0040/healer 4000/ powers 0400 at the time. I realized that I lost because of my own arrogance. Jedi believe we should be able to stand toe to toe with any prof. Used to be if a jedi got within melee range you were dead. At least in the movies it is. I thought sabers cut metal.Or maybe paper cuts the rock?......anywayI realized against this temp i had to use a different tactic. And it made me realize how important healer 0040 is. So I drop cloak, drop enhancer down to 2002, and go healer 4020, and def 4040. My next encounter with a swordsman/doc was quite different I may say. I rooted him and sap'd him and kept hitting him with my saber throw so he had to use a few heals. Fought him off a few times when it broke nothing major as i had FR on. And on the third root i moved in on him full blast with MLS and a 1.2 700 max 680 dps saber. Bang ..bang ..bang.....30% health he goes. His root breaks and i run again. Saber throw as i run for the KD. Channel, not that i needed it at the time. Then root him and sap again. Sap works on mind too. His mind was still there, bout 50% but his action was like 20%. Mine were still in great shape with all the food and buffs and what not. Move in again AB, sweep,power attack, headhit, saber hit, leghit. Took about 4-6 good swings on him to run his mind low and it was a wrap. MLS with forcespeed is still lethal up close with a good saber. Sap and root took care of the swordsman/doc and i did it by using the good ole ranged technique. I KITED. I rooted and ran and waited for my chance.

Most of us wont last long against those uber speeded, RIS'd up, Buffed out, 1300 hammer weilding temps. But if you sit back and think about what you did wrong you can come up with a solution or a different tactic to handle those really tough melee temps. You arent a coward as a jedi if you kite in my book. We're just not used to kiting out of pride and thinking we are the kings of the hill. NEWSFLASH....we are pretty weak. So until sabers can cut thru metal like they should.......KITE EM!!!

Issues:

LS Speed is broken

Premiums aren't dropping

Non-Issues:

A player who has invested in great armor, a great weapon, and knows their template well can 'own' a jedi. The cost of the items for a non-Jedi to reach this ability is high enough that a new player would not be able to do it, so in reality it probably took the player a few months to earn the money to buy the gear and learn the methods of beating Jedi.

Not really. All they need to do is do the Kassyyyk quests. Lots of the wpns go for mad cash. Specially the kinetic rifles. Not to mention if their able to get a group together to do the myyrdian cave quests (specially necrosis). Banes heart usually goes for 15 to 20 mil on trade forums.

I'm talking about a new player. Typically, a new player would do all the Kash quests and get all the items to sell right when they start.

Someone with experience in this game, however, can build a Jedi killer fairly quickly. Took me maybe two to three days to build the template I wanted, while at the same time I made a few million credits.

A new thought on the handling the Swordsman thing

since the dev's will most likley not get around to this for a long time we as jedi can handle this problem ourselves, since the jedi were rather arrogant in the prequels and are becoming so again post New Jedi Order heres a thought on how to handle this that fits with the arrogance of the Jedi and will most likley P**S off those swordsman/docs, so here it is

ALL JEDI SHOULD ADOPT THE FOLLOWING WHEN DEALING WITH ANY OTHERSBESIDES THE BOUNTY HUNTERS.

WHEN CHALLENGED TO A DUEL BY NON JEDI

SORRY GUY YOU WANNA FIGHT A JEDI YOU HAVE TO BE A JEDI GO OUT AND EARN THE RIGHT SEE ME WHEN UR DONE.

In one fell swoop we take our destiny back into our own hands, then they can spend the 6 months grinding out Jedi to earn the right to face us.

I've never seen such a collection of whiners in my life, this jedi forum is nothing but one huge "poor me" I'm not uber.

Personally I think alot of you have no one to blame for the nerfs but yourselves.

Exploits and bugs are understandable complaints, but the constant whining about wanting another profession nerfed because you're not better is ridiculous.

I've seen plenty of jedi take out various CL 80 template toons without a problem, and the reason they could do it is because they can play their toon better than their adversary.

Just because you happen to stink at playing your jedi is not a valid reason to nerf other professions so you can suck and still win.

**edit** already and spend more time learning your toon and how to use it to be effective against a variety of full temp professions.

Last thing this game needs is further nerfs to ANY profession.

oh yeah ive kinda left the jedi behind a bit and im working on different melee temps

Mpike/tkm/doc 4xxx is a hoot

in fact im on the verge of finishing 3 more cl 80 toons with a few more hours of grind on each different temps giving fencer a try and melee with Mdoc and im tellin ya for a out of the box temp for the most its a ton of fun compared to jedi atm

What is your template? And is the 1.8k hits the three swordsmen combined of each one of them? If it was the second, how'd you get a hit off? 1.8k(3)... hmm that'd kill you in one hit if you didnt heal like crazy...I am suprised you even got a hit off... BUT if the 1.8k was combined, that's only 600 damage each... thats weak if you ask me...

I am not trying to say your a nub or anything, its just it doesnt make since if you really look at what you put down

when i was a swordsman i'd it for about 1.4k, just so ya know, and that was with a good hammer, nothing else, no armor and what not, btw at the time i only had Master Swordsman, so no mods and what not
